2020 Audi E-Tron Sportback: A bit sleeker and a tad more range

Meet the 2020 Audi each Ron Sportback Now I know what you're thinking.
Now these engineers talk to a familiar formula they took the each run FQV we already know slept the Cooper five roof on in wham bam time for beer.
But they're actually some changes underneath the sheet metal that surprised even me.
But first, let's start with the familiar.
Like the Standard [UNKNOWN], this uses a sort of a version of Audi's electric [UNKNOWN] system with a 184 horsepower electric motor in the front axle and a 224 horsepower motor at the rear Together, they combine for around 355 horse power or for a short eight-second burst up to 402 horse power for boost.
Zero to 60 happens in around 5.5 seconds and thanks to a 150 kilowatt fast charger, you can go from 0 to 80% battery charge in around 30 minutes.
Now, Audi's engineers didn't just slap another roof on this vehicle and call it a day.
They've also made some changes to the electric power train.
Starting with the battery pack, they've actually unlocked more usable capacity for this one around 91% versus the about 80 and change for the more conventional profile.
That means you're looking at around 86 Point four kilowatt hours of actual net usable battery and you can think Audi's continuing tweaking of the system and improve thermal management for that less conservative estimate.
In addition, the front axle can now be completely decoupled when it's not in use and the hydraulic brakes have been tweaked.
So they also have less drag on the system.
That's before you even get to the sport back roof, which is more aerodynamic, saving you a couple of miles of range.
Overall you're looking at a much more efficient package on the road at highway speeds.
Now, Audi's estimating around 440 some odd kilometers on the WLTP standard in Europe Here in the States, a little bit of back of the envelope math, I'm reckoning you're gonna see around 220 miles of range, when this thing hits the EPA.
Now, that's a little bit more than the 204 from the standard.
But hey, when you're talking about EVs, every mile counts.
Now also in the European Union, they're gonna get a new version of Audi's digital matrix LED headlights.
And these ones are gonna use a 1.3 million pixel LED output to project all sorts of high resolution information on the road ahead.
Things like the width of the vehicle to help you position yourself in the lane.
It can highlight pedestrians that step in the road.
Heck, it can even play really cool animations on your garage wall.
But none of this technology is gonna be coming to the United States.
Unfortunately, you're going to have to send your angry letters to Nizza for that one.
Now this more efficient, sexier, sleeker version of Audi's e-tron is going to start taking preorders at the end of November 2019.
In Europe you can expect them to start hitting the road at around March of 2020.
And the United States we'll start seeing them around the end of the summer of the same year.
Now pricing isn't available just yet, but you can expect around a $2500 price premium over the eastern that we already know which starts at around 76,000 bucks
