XCAR Awards 2013 - Shoot of the Year
We've had a wide range shoots since XCAR started, wet, dry, scorching desert, knee-deep snow, super cars and hatch backs.
But what's been the best shoot of them all?
One where everything clicked, conditions were perfect, spirits were high.
For once, nothing went wrong leading to a film that we could be really proud of.
The Rolls-Royce Corniche at night in London has to have a mention.
The elegance of the machine and the look, the night lights of London gave it the quietness of the city's streets at 3 in the morning as it glided past me, resembling a silent ghost from the past.
Then there's the Jaguar X car S, filmed last winter in freezing Welsh temperatures, watching the sun rise over the Brecon Beacons was pretty
special and then hearing that V8 car through the icy morning atmosphere, which warmed us up plenty.
The Ford GTs and the BMW roads the shoots two days at cars [unk], a close circuit some of the rarest, beautiful, legendary and iconic cars about and we could drive them.
What more can you ask for?
The new Range Rover in Morocco.
The desert, the Atlas Mountains, a giant stunning playground with the best off-road luxury car on the planet and camels.
Actually, can we watch that again?
The Pagani Huayra, all the crew are first type of car there's really not much more I can say about that.
And finally, the BAC Mono, a day where we really got to see in its element devouring Welsh valleys on a stunning summer's day.
We later took it through the streets of London and seeing people's reaction to the car and just getting a chance to examine it from every angle up close was a fantastic experience.
However, despite all those, for me, the Shoot of the Year goes to Audi R8V10 Plus.
Everything about that day was perfect.
The car sang, the light was just right; that matte blue looked absolutely stunning.
The whole time we were working on it, we knew it was gonna come out looking special and I'm truly proud of that film.
