>> Hey folks, Brian Cooley here. 2009 Toyota Camry hybrid. Let me show you how to pair a Bluetooth phone and do a couple other tricks while you're in there. A quick simple how-to. First of all, to get to the phone menu, I just press the phone button here on the wheel to pick up the phone. It says mobile phone's not connected, that's how it may be when you get started. The first place you go from this screen is Settings, easy to find. Then to the upper right you find Bluetooth. Now Register is their word for pairing or adding a phone. It gives me the name of the car, the car's gonna show up as hands-free on my phone, and the default passkey is four 1's. So on your phone enable Bluetooth, and start looking for devices. And again, hands-free is the name of the device, and I see it right there on the dash. So I know I've got the right Bluetooth partner. Go ahead and hit that, and now it wants the pass code. It's right there on the screen, just 1111. Okay that, and tell your phone to go ahead and pair up. And you see you get a confirmation on the car screen as well. Now that you're paired, you can also do some address transfer. That's under phonebook here in the upper left. Okay the transfer on the screen, then transfer data, this large button up here. And by the way, it shows you what you've got in terms of free contact space. Pick a group if you want to use the division of groups, I'm just gonna go with the basic one. And now I start my transfer on the phone by going to, in this case on a Blackberry, down to the phone, pairing, and then transfer contacts. And of course back here on the phone menu you're gonna find Phone Book, Speed Dial, ways you can access your contacts, or Recent Call History. Oh by the way, you've got an auto connect toggle right here. This will decide whether or not phones that are paired automatically connect when they get in the car, or whether you want to do those manually. And this screen menu is kind of oddly named, it's really more of an options menu, one to be aware of. This is where you'll have calls either come in in full data or just an icon on the screen. Auto answer if you want that, so that it automatically picks up after a certain number of seconds, kind of interesting. And you've also got a Bluetooth status toggle, on or off, if you want to be reminded of that all the time.

So that's how you pair a Bluetooth phone, and manage the contacts and the connection in a 2009 Toyota Camry, or Toyota with similar head unit.
