I'll be honest with you.
A Lexus GS has never been my favorite-looking Lexus.
It's always been kinda hudgy and chunky to my eye even the big old LS I thought had nicer lines, but they've really done a lot to correct that on the new GS.
Take a look at the rear quarter here in the back.
It's got a lot of LS to my eye.
You've got this big, elaborate, polished metal trim
which is really significant back here to set the car off.
But most importantly, check out the face.
This is the new face of Lexus, more aggressive, more of a I'm-a-driver's-car look than I'm-a-luxury-car statement.
This is the hybrid, the 450H, 3-1/2 liter V6 coupled to not one but a dual motor.
The electric motor apparatus gets this guy to 60 in under 6 seconds, about 5.9 they say.
Pretty good for what's a biggish heavy luxurious car while delivering what I'm understanding
is gonna be around 30 as their combined EPA target.
Those are again numbers that we'll have to see what happens when it certifies into the U.S. Now the new GS comes to the U.S. Q1 of 2012.
The hybrid is the one I'm showing you.
They will also be a straight up gas engine V6.
All-wheel drive will be in the mix as well, kind of the same drive line configurations we had going out on the old GS, just this one looks and seems to tech up a lot better.
