>> We've seen Fords, Lincolns, and Mercury's with their existing LCD nav head unit for a long time, and they're not bad. Don't look too bad, kinda nice to work with, but this is a whole lot better. Check out the new Ford Corporate head unit. This is in a Lincoln MKS, but it'll be showing up in a lot of vehicles, even the F150. First of all, look at the map display, very different. Nicely rendered, one of the better ones I've seen. You've got a lot of building icons so you kinda feel like you're really flying over the location you're looking at, and that whole bird's eye view is nice. Then you've got this ability to bring up a lot of buttons that are hidden just by touching the screen, and then I hit it again and I get this whole kind of bird's eye deal. I can rotate around using this circular direction button, and of course I can move forward and back using these bird's eye buttons here in various corners. It's a big improvement on what they used to have. Now on top of that, there's a whole new button on these systems, I. That's Sirius travel link. When you hit that you get to a whole new menu of data feeds coming into your car. I've got weather, which gives me right now, five days out, or if I'm a skier I got a ski forecast right here, very nice. Going back to that I also have a set of fuel price, movie listing, and sports info buttons. Again, these are all coming down to the car. It's mostly data feed down, not a whole lot of reaching out. But again, one step at a time. Got all the major leagues right there. And if I go back to the other one here, fuel prices, I like this a lot, I can sort by nearest gas station, when you're really running on fumes, or best price when you're really cheap. One more I want to show you, that'd be the movie listings. This could be very handy. Here are my theaters, that icon means I have movie listing data acquired from satellite. I press that, here is that theater's movies with the show times, and of course because I've got Sync installed on these vehicles I could also call the theater by pressing one button right there. Also new is album art, courtesy of the Grace Note CD database, which is also brining in the album artist and the title of course. And a lot of that is being done because they now have a forty gig hard drive in here that also lets you rip your own music into the system if you put a disc in, CD or DVD playback on this guy. So this is a completely revamped head unit for Ford.

And considering it reaches out to Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and they're eager to push it way down in their line, this is gonna impact a lot of car buyers.
