CES 2019: Jarvish XAR helmet packs a retractable heads-up display
(MUSIC) Hey there guys this is [UNKNOWN] in the middle of these two helmets.
This is me.
I'm pointing to me right now.
On my left is the JARVISH X. It's a motorcycle helmet.
It's got a nice front facing camera which could be used in case of accidents.
On my right is XAR.
Now this It's really fancy the AR stands for augmented reality it's got camera the front camera at the back and you get all kinds of stats at your eye I gonna try it out.
Get my glasses on not the easiest thing to do in a helmet.
All right so if I wanted to see some really cool stuff I have to say out loud this is voice controlled.
And right over my eye is a display of what's behind me.
This Head-Up Display is in full color and it's semi-transparent.
If you don't focus on it, you won't really notice it.
She's got two fingers up now, and I see two down.
So, the Head-Up Display will be capable of showing a lot of information.
If you're receiving a phone call, navigation and even how fast you're going.
It's all in the name of safety, because you don't really focus on that little display.
You're able to see right through it.
Both the helmets actually pair to your phone.
There is an app, and they work together for crash detection.
The camera plus the phone will work together for crash detection.
So you might be thinking Hey, wait a minute.
How many times do you have to charge this device?
A standard ride, two hours, okay.
If you want a longer ride, you can actually get a smart back pack from Jarvis, I'm not making this up, it's got a magnetic clip, attach it to the helmet and you can get a much longer ride.
Sounds crazy, it sounds really interesting but unfortunately they don't have it here today.
There are two different ways to charge the Jarvish helmets.
You can do it wirelessly or you could charge it using micro USB.
You remove this panel right here and you try to find the micro USB port.
The Jarvish X will cost around $450.
That's the one with the front facing camera.
If you want the one with AR that's gonna cost you around $1,000.
Both come out in September in the US.
