>> There is it is, the heart of a new guilt-free pleasure; Audi's TT in S-trim. We love the new TT, we love all the Audi S-cars, now you get to have those two together. This is a 2-liter, turbocharged, direct injected motor; lots of Audi's favorite tricks brought together though in a very low displacement engine. Two little measly liters means almost 30 miles per gallon while still giving you north of 270 horsepower and good torque because it is turbocharged and of course they've worked the computer right so it's got some good low-end grunt, making you forget it's a 2 liter 4. You might never miss a 3.2 V6. Now for the rest of the car, this is the traditional second generation TT shape; nothing new there. The vehicle goes 0 to 60 in 5 seconds in this trim; the roadster's a little heavier and therefore a couple tenths of a second slower. In the cabin I see the Audi MMI interface looks the same though we haven't been able to fire this one up and actually use it. So I'll wait to see a real production car and see if they've updated the interface. It's getting a little long in the tooth; I'd love to see a revamp. Transmissions--this one here has one of those automatic manuals, twin clutch a DSG; also available for the purest with a 6-speed manual straight ahead clutch gearbox. There's standard Quattro rear wheel drive and electromagnetic ride control. Arriving later this year in both roadster and coupe trim, the new Audi TT S.
