preGame 45: iPad 2 gaming round-up

We have Q and -- -- you're right now so we can show you guys as many games as we can honestly fit in today's episode pregame once again nothing. Put amazing iPad gains some specialists -- to. And you -- if they all them on any iPad. But. It's going to be a lot of fun yeah definitely -- is it crazy to think that last year almost around the same time. We did the same thing with the first -- we did is anatomy is amazing. I forget what we do we did like -- -- -- do it every Resident Evil 4 -- did metal gear drives and here we are iPad two next generation new games -- new game excited lot of fun. It's probably one of the best looking at -- high -- games out there. And I think it shares that title with another game which will show soon after. But. You know the game has been designed specifically for. IOS. You know platforms and -- controls -- really really well as you'll see. Right now. So it's got those seen dead space sort of controls that everyone's used to. Was it pretty much just maneuver. We do as -- -- -- your right thumb. Where you want to orientation of the screen -- -- exactly and I'm using my left -- to walk. Let's -- how a lot of the iPad games are. There's not really -- mean some of them deathly do you have directional. Directional pad. That does touch screen you just use but. Some of the games and I've -- you just pretty much move your thumb where you want the the middle of the screen to be and then it adjusts accordingly. And it's cool how adaptive it is so I can either I can do you know just -- -- -- my thumbs down here and still control. Or can keep them -- -- and control so they really give you a nice range which area. -- so again following the bread crumbs. And organs and shootings and mortar -- the things that you showed me that I think it's kind of cool is. One of the features of the guns that you use in dead space is that each gun has a special mode where it can do something different. And the way you. Switch between your regular remote in your special mode -- these guns. Is you just hope the orientation at the screen right so -- showed that you. See -- -- which is very CNN. Pretty cool -- the plasma cutter right now right now right that's your vision changes the orientation of the way the gun shoots but later on the game you get a bunch of cool. New guns that do different things and special -- -- exactly and more will get up here to. Two more were actually showing some shooting and and -- you wanna show as many as we canceled will move on. -- ago okay. That's and then -- -- teaches. Us it again. Do that this -- Very cool stuff really good controls it's sort of as intuitive it as it can get. Those who say one of the coolest things about dead space is. Zero gravity. It's back. It. And the -- you as usual and this is everything goes wrong. So it does make a run for -- says you can see things really. Get a little crazy. Game show sensitive but in terms of how this is -- going to be ten bucks okay but you know it is a full featured game. For people that are familiar with that -- the enemies. -- given an in the head isn't gonna do anything you get it yet achieved humans. That's it takes them so anyway that's that's there is a warning usually too much. With a little game called infinity blade moving right along moving right along infinity blade it is. Sort of like a turn based. Fighting game is the best way I can describe it you'll see in a second. You know this combined with. -- space. You're your talking about the two. Best looking -- best rapidly absolutely. Okay so here's infinity blade. In a lot of it involves. You. Matching the enemies -- movements it's tough. You know it's funny. There's a mini game in Final Fantasy set in that kind of reminds me of this but obviously this is much more. Advance. So is part -- -- to see what I did there -- block this thing and I'm just gonna slice them up. -- -- You basically want to match the way he is swinging. And do you do that. See how did that again so you wait for the U -- -- for the little icon you sort of a majority get a hint as to where he's. About to swing. -- -- of graphics suite unbelievable graphics. And in this rivals. A lot of again these portable game system and let alone you know console games. You know the graphics are just really control. And the controls really are. Pretty good definitely but I guess than the needed this game is. Just what you're doing right now there's no. A lot from a EA and chill lingo which is the company that puts out Angry Birds. On the latest game that they're showing is a game called collision effect. It looks like the the balls from Boston it does -- it looks little like Boston but it's -- it is it is colored base and it's not there's two modes of play action and puzzle. We'll -- action real quick. -- into the puzzle basically you have to match up. The circle -- similar colored circles. On -- -- first levels pretty easy. But -- things escalate and you never want -- paths to mount across. -- -- concerning give it time it. And then lets you watch a conservative. He was on purpose here. But. -- okay so be like that energy contrail can tune. Of one color can't break but since -- but since it's so early it's it's it's it's under to have them collide and exactly. So as it -- for the rule all -- we'll see examples of where we'll see that data that orange country or just a day ago they are -- -- -- -- that it's as if they do -- that the -- but the -- -- -- itself right okay so that's the one mode which is really cool. And then we have the puzzle mode and this. Is really cool. Com we'll start off simple and then get a little more complicated. So basically cause and effect will give you a mood or sort of set up. Really -- backgrounds interactive Tutsis if you could -- on us on. -- so down here at the bottom you can control of what speed you want your little or -- to accelerate that but which -- doing basically touching these buttons. And just letting them attached to their same colored. Forbes without the paths crossing and so obviously that level is -- it's pretty easy. Things get complicated real fast. And bi level eight. You're in a position where you have to really choose your steps way ahead of time so you can switch midway through. Like if you select a -- bald and -- switch back and change the speed or parole or if you can do it but I choose to -- the slow speed setting on this anyway -- -- it. You you can get it so it's not something where you have to like. Kind of -- between the different speeds and different all right different -- you're probably gonna wanna keep on the on the slow death an excellent data and then activate this and -- the -- one. So that these -- don't touch or an individual -- writes we just need that. Looks like the the red ones gonna touch no we're lucky. That's cool I'll and it has than I could speed data and then you know you can see. Get this game just because it brought me still back to my college. -- Years when I found out that EA has been putting. Once again one wanted to bust a move similar of us -- but this game. Just sums up my entire freshman college year initially their matching three of the kind. Pretty much all I did my computer class when I was in high school that's all you did this is all I did. I mean its its so simple but so much fun. You basically matching the shapes. And colors exactly if you can't -- that's what's going on. And you know there's all these different. Characters. And you know getting them in the right spot it's not as easy as it looks things escalate real quickly. And I mean it just it this game just brought me back. To a better place it's a good a good time waste their purchase of M two ADD a like commit more than ten minutes. To these types -- games. I think just because maybe maybe console -- Well that's the thing in and -- a million RPG -- -- understandably so the beauty of all this is that you just go there and she and their cheap -- and -- these games are also available for. The iPhone two I pretty much everything on -- absolutely FYI. -- -- Here's a new game. Tapper world world tour HD so basically. You're in charge of getting everyone -- And you basically have to you. You know give everyone and their years at -- time. There there are so that you no one's ever waiting -- -- when you get to the front of the surfboard. It does then there waiting -- line right exactly so this is an early level look I gave too many there and now. One breaks holds reaches those in kicks his foot out. As -- are -- at dammit. So. That's sort of what is but the game really you know there's so many levels and it gets a lot harder. So it seems like -- most these games you have to. You have to unlock the next stage you can't just go right ahead and -- which is cool because it gives you the incentive to sort of continue playing. -- -- And in a deluxe like Thelma after it doesn't and on they -- agent and I love how they years and they all sort of drink their beer. And has as they're doing the moon and then they just slide out -- which is pretty funny. And that's okay now that -- who are not just an amazing we have to find -- -- should girl. That's pretty fun is a lot of mini games and how much is part tapper are ten or -- or whatever there. Tapper world tour -- to those who has won many 9199. So that's another only we definitely recommend. Infinity field I want to shoreline now for. I believe how much is this game infinity field. 199 as well because who -- a nine you basically gaining. Geometry wars that's really what it is -- what I really like about this scheme. Is the fact that you can. Basically. Use any section of the screen. To become your. You're left and right success you undoing here and -- -- that auto -- is just amazing second you stop touching. It -- our school to look let's say -- my left joystick here in my right when appear not a problem there they are. Okay and I've never played geometry wars but. I know -- stuck in them. Yeah it's a great looking game that's a lot line is it fairly easy to control using the touch screen. Yeah I -- it definitely takes a little getting used to. I don't know what the left and left one -- Love that you can put the -- anywhere you want it's really on this a little bit of getting used to but once you're sort of in the zone here power.
