Lenovo Y50 Touch: A midsize gaming system with style
Laptops
[MUSIC]
A gaming laptop has finally has just about everything I'm looking for, I'm Dan Ackerman and this is the Lenovo Y50 Touch.
Now this is one of the laptops I probably got the most emails and questions from CNET readers about this year, everyone is interested in, in thinner more stylish portable gaming laptops has asked me about this,.
The Y50, it's the touch, so it has a touch screen.
It pretty much hits a lot of the things I'm looking for in a gaming laptop that the traditional gaming guides don't always wanna give us.
It's got a fairly sedate design, kinda matte black, some really cool red accents.
It's not that thick, it's a 15" laptop.
It's not one of those big, back-busting 17" models.
Reasonably thin, reasonably light, still kind of a stay-at-home laptop you're not going to carry around every day.
But it's got one of Vid Video's current generation video cards.
That's the, that's the eight.
60.
It's not the 870 or 880.
It's not the top of the line, but it is a modern, current day card, and that's pretty good.
It's got a core I7 processor, obviously.
It's got a 1080p screen, and it's got the other thing pretty much no one else outside of that range [INAUDIBLE] gives you.
And a high powered gaming laptop.
And that is a touch screen.
That's why it's called the Y 50 touch.
Now, are you gonna use touch in gaming all the time?
No probably not.
But if you want to use this as more than just a dedicated gaming machine, you want it to be your every day at home or at work laptop.
Well then, if you're using Windows 8, you're probably gonna wanna have Touch, and that's what you get right here.
interestingly, there is a version of this with an actual 4K resolution screen.
I don't think that version is available yet.
We don't have it.
We just have the 1080p version of it.
Another thing is you put all these effects together, including.
The normal excellent Lenovo build quality.
Great keyboard, great touchpad.
Decent looking not too reflective screen and again decent touch on the screen Best Buy has an exclusive version of this for about 1200 dollars and considering all the different components in it and the design and the fact that it's a gaming laptop with a touchscreen I think that's frankly a pretty great deal.
