>> Hi I'm David Carnoy, executive editor for CNET.com and I'm here to tell you about the Flip Video Ultra, this is a really simple to use digital camcorder. It stores video onto flash memory internally into a device. The model I'm showing here comes with 2 GB of memory, which allows you to store 60 minutes of video, but there is also a 1 GB version, which allows you to store 30 minutes of video. This is the white model, and also comes in several other different colors. The key feature of the camcorder is that it is really simple to use, you literally press one button on the back to record video, you then very easily can upload the video to your computer and there is even an automatic editing package for Windows users called Movie built right into the camera. The Flip Video Ultra is the successor to the standard Flip Video and there are some changes in the design to this model. It is a little bit narrower, it isn't thinner necessarily, the makers of the camcorder have also made some improvements to the video quality. The video is a little bit less compressed so we did see, we did notice a little bit improvement in the video quality. The video quality isn't stellar, but its fine for e-mailing to friends and family, it's also good for YouTube and some of the other video sharing services. Around the side there is this flip out USB so you can connect it directly to the USB port on your computer, you'll also see there is a TV out port and if you really need to connect this to a tripod, there is a tripod mount on the bottom. One small drawback to the camera is that there is no expansion slot for more memory. If you're on a longer vacation, that can be a problem where you can only shoot 60 minutes of video, you actually can use it up a little bit more quickly than you think. All in all, we thought this was a nice step forward in the Flip Video line, the improved design, image quality, and the upgrade software. And this makes the Ultra a force to be reckoned with in the budget camcorder space. I'm David Carnoy and that's the Flip Video Ultra.
