Speaker 1: Tired of Siri, not recognizing all of your smart home gadgets around your house while Amazon updated the Alexa app with a widget. And today I'm gonna walk you through how to set up Alexa, on your iPhone home screen.
Speaker 1: Now, Alexa can't replace everything that Siri does. Mostly things revolving around settings on your iPhone, but there are a lot of things that Alexa can do, especially around smart devices that Siri can't. It's no secret that nearly every smart device on the planet works with Alexa, but for [00:00:30] Siri and home kit, your options are more limited not to mention sometimes Siri chokes up and just stops responding to basic requests altogether. Now you're not necessarily replacing Siri with Alexa. In fact, with the Alexa app, all adding the widget really does is make Alexa a tap away on your home screen. But if you're fed up with Siri, that's enough to make adding the widget worthwhile. Here's how first create the widget on your iPhone. Swipe left past the first page of your home screen press or hold one of the widgets until a menu pops up, then tap, edit home, screen [00:01:00] the plus icon in the upper, right. Then either scroll until you see Amazon Alexa or type it in, in the search box and tap Amazon Alexa, tap, add widget at the bottom of the screen and keep in mind. There's only one size for it. Now, if you're happy with where the widget is at click on the screen, outside of it to keep it in place. If not then while the widgets are still wiggling tap and hold the other Alexa widget, then drag it where you want on the home screen.
