Add Your Contact Info to Your Mac Login Screen
Speaker 1: There's a personalization option that could save you. If your MacBook ever gets lost. The ability to add a message, like say your contact information to your login window. So let's go over how to do it. First click on the apple menu button in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Then select system preferences, security, and privacy, and general next, if the little lock in the lower left hand corner of your window is secured, like it is for me, click on it and enter your password to keep making changes. Next check, [00:00:30] show a message. When the screen is locked and click on set lock message. And from there, you can add whatever text you'd like. I'm gonna quickly add my very real, not at all, fake for this demonstration contact info. And now when you, or whoever may encounter your MacBook enters your login window, the message you set will appear. And I should add that this option can be used to display messages other than your contact info as well, whatever information you think might be useful to the person logging in. And it doesn't just work on Mac laptops. [00:01:00] It can also be on desktops too.
