[ Music ] ^M00:00:06 >>Yep, here we are again >>Yep [laughter] hey, that's how we do it all the time. >>And we're doing it again tomorrow aren't we? >>Yeah >>This is a double header, it's a double header coming up. It's the first time and the only time on the Double Header Help Desk you're gonna have the two of us, Brian Cooley and Brian Tong >>The two headed dragon >>BT and BC >>All day strong >>Makin it happen >>That's how we do it. [laughter] >>Welcome, welcome guys >>Cooley: Welcome to the Holiday Help desk. Alright this is, we're kind of mid-month here, mid Bhutan death march, as I call it. This is where we take your calls and help you find out where to get the best deals on things you need. Of course, Brian Tong with me Brian Cooley and we also have Tristan Rinehart here from Shopper.com today. He's gonna be our shopper dude. And for the next half hour that's what we do, we take your calls, help you find the right product and most importantly at the right price and some place that will get it to you in time for the holidays and of course the phones are open at 888-900-cnet, 888-900-2638. >>Tong: That's right, obviously this is going to be show 12 of 22 >>Cooley: Right smack in the middle >>Tong: Can't wait for 13 tomorrow with you big boy. >>Cooley: Alright, that's right. We'll be so unlucky and so will the viewers. >>Tong: No, no, they'll be comin in so along with us obviously Molly Wood and Tom, Molly Wood and Tom Merritt. They're gonna be comin up 1:00 p.m. west coast time, 4:00 p.m. east coast time, all the time you can watch us live or check us out on demand at CNET TV or through our CNET live. >>Cooley: And not just phones, by the way, we also have the email client open. It's not the best way to get in at the last minute but you can try it. It's the Holidayhelpdesk@cnet.com or get in a chat which is cnet.com/live/holidayhelpdesk so lots of ways to get in the show but the phone is the most direct one to be involved at 888-900-cnet. >>Tong: Absolutely now every day also we give you guys the chance to win great prizes, that's probably the main reason why you're watching and check us out but all you guys have to do is go out to crave.cnet.com. You want to find the good way postings, sometimes later in the day you have to go through a few pages to get to it but today the prize is gonna be an Insignia Blu-Ray player from Best Buy. And what's unique about this one is a WiFi based Blu-Ray player so a lot of times this player does have BD live features built into it but the beauty of it is that you won't have to run an Ethernet cable into a Blu-Ray player like a lot of them that you have to. This is a WiFi based Blu-Ray player so you have now until 4:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. eastern time on Thursday. Go to our webpage crave.cnet.com, create an account if you haven't already and hey you have a chance to win that. >>Cooley: Just comment >>Tong: Yeah >>Cooley: That's all you gotta do, leave a comment and you're entered and we'll let you know if you're a winner. We'll tell you who won yesterday's prize coming up at the end of the show as well. Now speaking of great stuff that you want to know about day to day, fresh everyday, let's go to cnetshopper.com as we bring in Tristan, Tristan Rinehart from CNET shopper. They've always got some deals here fresh for us everyday here on the Holiday Help Desk so Tristan, what do you got today you want to bring our attention to? >>Tristan: We found this Samsung Syncmaster t240 HD monitor. The savings is up to 10 percent off at Tigerdirect.com. It has an excellent review from CNET reviews and has HDMI In, 1080p and it's something that I'm specifically interested in because >>Cooley: Because you want one >>Tristan: I want to replace my TV with something that I don't need cable or TV tuner. I just wanna >>Cooley: Just go internet >>Tristan: Internet >>Cooley: Over the top baby, we're goin over the top [laughter] >>Tristan: Wanna reduce >>Cooley: That's it. Wanna reduce all the BS. Get rid of all those providers and get down to IP, right? >>Tristan: That's right >>Cooley: This is a nice unit for that cause like you said it's got HDMI In for a DVD player, what have you >>Tristan: 24 inch >>Cooley: Yeah, pretty good size. Big enough for a bedroom set or an apartment size. $269 is pretty good and 5 millisecond refresh, checkin some of the specks here. Full HD, it's 1080P so it's no slouch as a television. >>Tong: Not that you really need 1080P on the 24 inch screen >>Cooley: That's a good point. >>Tong: I'm just saying >>Cooley: That's a good point. It's over specked but that gives you some future proofing or at least some competence that you didn't under buy >>Tong: And you can tell people >>Cooley: At this price? >>Tong: And you can tell people, I have 1080P >>Cooley: Yeah, I have HD and just leave it at that. [laughter] I'll tell them it's a 24 and they'll say, damn, you got the 56 >>Tong: You are ballen big time. [laughter] >>Cooley: Alright Tristan that's good stuff. It's over at shopper.com. Just go to the top and hit deals, today's deals, and it's right there within the list, lost of stuff though. That isn't the only product by any stretch so a lot of good stuff there on the shopper daily deals. Check those out. Now another guy we check in with everyday is of course the cheapskate, Rick Broida who's joining us now from cheaphq in an undisclosed [laughter] location. >>Tong: Are you tired of being called cheap all the time, Rick? Or do you like it? >>Rick: Yeah that's what I signed up for man. I have to live with it. >>Cooley: Yeah you have to live with it, dude. >>Tong: He's owning it. >>Cooley: Yeah you're never gonna be known as the Carey Grant of tech. You're the cheap guy, a little different kind of image entirely. Alright so what do you got for us this time around, Rick, what's our cheap deal today? >>Rick: Our cheap deal today, Brian and Brian, is a really cool HP photo printer. It's one of those lunchbox style printers, which I think are a blast. I really enjoy these things. You can take them to a party. You can time them kind of wherever you need to go. When you want to print a picture on the spot you just connect your camera or pop in your memory card or even print via Bluetooth, if you have a phone that supports Bluetooth printing and turn out a 4 by 6 glossy, a 5 by 7 glossy. You know you can print on the spot. It's pretty cool. It's $79.99, right about half of what this printer normally sells for so just make sure you use the coupon code that is in the listing so that you get that super cheapy price. >>Cooley: Now I noticed you point out that that's not just stupid shipping, like you know three months, it's two day shipping. >>Rick: Two day shipping so it's perfect if you're hurrying up to get a Christmas present or even a Hanukkah present cause that's comin right up. >>Cooley: Right, that's right, excellent deal. And you mentioned that this has got Bluetooth. Is that optional or does this have it built in? Do you know? >>Rick: No, it comes with Bluetooth which is kind of rare so >>Cooley: Yeah, okay nice deal on one of those things. These are one of those products that you don't understand necessarily how cool they are until you try one. >>Tong: Till you use one. At my little niece's birthday party, we have a portable printer, and I got it for them for Christmas last year. I mean everyone was like taking pictures >>Cooley: And printing >>Tong: You literally just connect it up and start printing pictures on the spot. Now this was has wireless with Bluetooth and not all cameras have that pic bridge technology built into it but if they did, this is really cool. >>Cooley: The card just pops right out. It's real easy. Stick the SD card in there and it looks like it holds several different cards obviously and USB so an excellent, fun product, great gift. It's not like you have to know what someone has to integrate with. It's kind of a stand alone deal. You know they're gonna love it if they have a digital camera at all. Alright, good stuff. Hey, Rick, thanks a lot. That's the cheapskate, Rick Broida. We'll check back with you tomorrow for another great cheapskate deal. Let's go to the phones. >>Tong: Let's hit the phones. Alright, here we go, we're going to go to line one, John, John, how you doin? >>Cooley: Oops, let's get John on there. There he is. John, you got a question about a portable media player. Welcome to Holiday Help Desk. >>Yeah I was considering buying the Archos 7, 160 gigabyte, internet media tablet and I was wondering if I should wait till the 9 comes out or get like a Netbook tablet, which is basically what this is. >>Tong: Yeah, right off the bat the Netbook tablet thing still hasn't really been figured out, right? >>Cooley: No >>Tong: There isn't a leader or really a model that people can say this is kind of the successful kind of form factor or where the industries even going yet. No one has really solved that. Has it really come down to you just hoping that the bigger screen will allow you to do more things at this point and time because no one has really stood on this is the tablet device to get. >>Well I was mainly looking for media players that will also read PDF files. >>Tong: Okay >>Cause every now and then I want to read a book while I'm sitting there. >>Cooley: And you've got stuff on PDF that you're gonna be loading up there so that's the format you're looking for? >>You got it. >>Cooley: Hmm, when is the Archos 9 coming out? I lost track of that. >>I don't know. They say it's not available yet. >>Cooley: Yeah I'm looking at our post here. We've got a, have we got a quick hands on, it looks like we've done. We can put that up. Erica Ogde [assumed spelling] did a little hand's on with a PC Archos 9. Let's take a look at that so people can see what we're looking at. So that's the Archos 9, you know the white Bessel, bigger display so it's definitely kind of a generous thing. It's bigger than a Smartphone. About the size of a Netbook monitor minus the rest of the Netbook. And then the Archos 7, we've got that guy over here and let me get a picture of that up so folks can see, it's a significant difference in size. We can pull that up here and you'll see that it's much more kind of PDA, PMP size, right? >>Yeah, it's larger than an iPhone >>Cooley: Yeah so you got a big decision here on size of real estate that you want to make in your decision point, regardless of anything else. Are you looking for a pocket device or one that's more of a >>Tong: Throw in your bag >>Cooley: Throw in your bag device? >>Throw in the bag is fine. >>Cooley: Yeah I think, I don't know, like BT says, this whole sectors not sorted out. We don't have a review on the Archos 7, obviously not on the 9 so I can't do a head to head with it yet but I'm thinking waiting is very prudent in this case if you can do that. >>Alright >>Cooley: Alright, you want to go buy something >>Well I want to go buy something but I don't want to get a bad deal out of it. >>Cooley: I'd hold off >>Tong: Right off the top I just couldn't give you a clear answer. The fact that we haven't had a chance to really review them also you know because this space is just not defined yet. >>Cooley: No, not at all. >>Tong: There's still pretty of room to grow. You're seeing the [inaudible] books come out. Soon you'll start seeing integration and media playback through the future as well. It's just not figured out. >>Cooley: Yeah and let's not forget the Ju Ju Tablet that Rafe Needleman of CNET tried out just a few days ago. We got hands on with that and that's kind of even bigger than the Archos 9 and that guys gonna have a lot of ability to do media and also web. You know it's a portable web tablet but it also will show 720P high depth video so you got a lot of stuff shaking out here. I feel like you're gonna be, there's the Ju Ju in a little more detail there. It's kind of a big boy. It's a little early unless you want to go do an early adopt and then I'm still gonna wait because that Archos 7, it's just too small. >>Tong: Even something like that Ju Ju is $500 for basically surfing the web. >>Cooley: Yeah, that's what they're talking about. >>Tong: So again the space just has to be cleared up. >>Cooley: Okay, that's our best advice. >>Tong: Sorry about that, John >>Alright, well thank you. >>Cooley: Okay, good luck with it. Let's take a quick break here. We're gonna come back and take more of your calls. >>Tong: Phone lines still open. We can take your calls. That's what we're here for, right? >>Cooley: Yeah, two lines free at 888-900-CNET, 88-900-2638. And coming up right after this short break we're gonna be talking to Andre Sam from Best Buy, check in what's going on over there as we're kind of mid holiday crazy season rush. All that's coming up after the Holiday Help Desk continues. [music] >>[background music] If you think all batteries are the same, consider this, these Duracell batteries were given to the Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA because when it comes to kids and healing, we're not just powering a toy, we're powering a smile. Duracell, trusted everywhere. >>Everywhere you look new gadgets are poppin up. To get the real story on them, there's really only one place to go, CNET.com, discover something new, at CNET. >>Last FM, now on XBOX Live. Discover how you can explore endless personalized radio stations. Find out more at www.lastfm.com/xbox ^M00:11:33 [music] ^M00:11:38 >>Tong: Alright guys, welcome back. Phone lines are still up 888-900-cnet so you know, call us. Send us an email holidayhelpdesk@cnet.com. We are here. >>Cooley: Don't send an email. We're never gonna get that. Just call us. >>Tong: We take the calls first. [laughter] We're here waiting. >>Cooley: 888-900-cnet, 888-900-2638, emails backed up. I'll give you a little inside glimpse, don't do that. Just call us right now. [laughter] Alright, let's stop the BS right now. We know each other too well. We're too close. We're all CNET people. Come on, let's just get to the phones. Alright let's go join now Andre Sam from Best Buy on the phone because Skype sucks and we're going to talk now about the best deals over at Best Buy. Hey, Dre, how you doin, man? Oops, where's our audio. There he is. >>Tong: He's taken, he's taken >>Cooley: Oh he's on Skype >>Tong: I got him. I got him. >>Cooley: Skype doesn't suck as hard as we thought it did. Andre we have your audio. There you are. >>Tong: I've got him now >>Cooley: I'm sorry, it's on the phone. So we've got you on the phone and we got you on Skype but we don't have both media on one. It's really >>Tong: We see him good though >>Cooley: That's why he's on the cell phone, just to explain that. Okay so what are we talkin about today? What are you guys excited about in terms of some deals? Hit me with some products. >>You know what, bundling is really big this holiday season and we have some great deals, great bundles. We have a 42 inch plasma, Panasonic plasma package with XBOX Elite and a popular game of Avatar, by James Cameron. That all packaged in for $699 >>Tong: Wow >>So that's great. We have also a 19 inch LCD DVD combo, high def television. That's for actually $214.99. >>Cooley: And what's the, on that first deal, the size on that Vierra again is what? >>42 inch, 42 inch Panasonic plasma VS >>Tong: That's killer >>Cooley: That's nice and that's $699 for the whole bundle including >>$699 for everything, I mean you're talking about bang for your buck, that's a bang for your buck and won't bounce it an ounce. >>Cooley: That's it right there. That's what I'm talking about. >>Tong: The Elite itself is $300 >>Cooley: So basically you're getting the TV half off and we're throwin in the game. Boom >>Throwin in the game >>Cooley: There it is >>Invite some people over and you have home entertainment. >>Cooley: Immediately. Now Avatar is not even out yet, is it? >>Tong: The movie's comin out soon. This is cool >>But the game is. >>Cooley: You've got the game fresh already. I love this. Okay, give me another deal off there. I see a few others down in your daily deals today in the bottom ribbon on your bestbuy.com website. >>Yep on the bottom ribbon you can see this weeks deals and then deal of the day. The deal of the day is the 19 inch Insignia television. It's a 19 inch, high def television with built in DVD player so you also have packaged in with it you can use it as an LCD, as a computer monitor as well. So you have three different functions in one product, talking about bundling, that's given you a lot of bang for your buck, all three packaged in one box. And that's actually $214.99. And with television, any television that you buy online is actually free shipping for all televisions and anything else that you order is .99 per item. >>Cooley: Really? >>You can't beat that. You can not beat that. >>Cooley: So shipping is just a .99 an item additional on top of your first item. >>Tong: Finger lickin good >>Cooley: He's killin us today. He's killin us with this. I do love the idea of these TV's with the built in DVD player, you know for like a small bedroom or home office, instead of having a piece some other piece of gear, it's hangin there. That's a good thing. Hey Andre, let me ask you a question here. We have an email from Ed in Long Beach who wanted, I'm springing this on you, does Best Buy match prices with any of the online guys? He seems to recall you guys used to match price with Amazon. Was that then, this is now? What's the story there? >>Actually we definitely try to match prices with most brick and most mortar prices so if you have an actual store. Online prices, we will try to pick some of those and we try to definitely give our customers the best possible price but we do a lot of extensive research to try to make sure that one, we're giving the best price and if you come in with something we can try to make a decision at that particular time. If it looks like something that we can do, we'll definitely go for it and do it, trying to keep our customers happy. >>Cooley: Okay so it doesn't hurt to ask so if I go in there and say, can you guys match this price even if it's online? And they're not gonna look at me like I'm crazy. They'll say yeah or no but they'll think about it. >>Tong: At least they'll look at it >>They will definitely look at it. I guarantee you that. >>Cooley: Okay that's a good thing, alright. Andre Sam from Best Buy. Thanks for joining us, man. >>It was my pleasure guys >>Cooley: Alright, we'll talk to you again soon. >>Thanks for the Blu-Ray player >>Tong: And thank you, we've got to thank Best Buy cause they're the ones that are hookin us up with the Insignia Blu-Ray player as a giveaway >>Cooley: That's right. That's our giveaway today. Good stuff. Andre, thanks a lot. We will catch you a few days down the road when you're back on Holiday Help Desk. And we're back into your calls at 888-900-cnet, 888-900-2638. But before we do that let's take a look at our first look video of the day and this is the, how do you pronounce that brand name? >>Tong: Invisien [assumed spelling] >>Cooley: I bet it's Invisien. They took out the vowels >>Tong: They changed ion to an en because took out the s. >>Cooley: Cause that's just how they roll. It's the Invisien digital dual box pro. Check it out. >>[background music] I'm David Carnoy and I'm here with a product from a company you probably haven't heard of. It's called Invisien and it's made a portable DVD player that also has a DTV tuner in it. That is why this product is called the dual box pro 8850A. The player itself is a pretty generic styled. It is a plain black portable DVD player. Its top is shiny and that is a big of a fingerprint magnet. We notice it does scratch a little bit on top very easily. Along with playing back your DVD's this also does divX. It also has a slot for SD cards, MMC cards and memory stick cards, along with a mini USB port and you can even attach things like a digital camera directly to this, show off your photos and show off any videos on those cameras. There's also an AV import and the devise does come with some cables that allows you to even attach a game console. You can put a PS3 on here or an XBOX 360, however it is only a composite video connection but that's okay cause this is not an HD resolution screen. You only get 480 by 234 resolution. That means when it comes to the TV side of this you're getting a DTV signal, not an HDTV signal, though it will put in an HDTV signal it will only display it at that 480 by 234 resolution. Now because this is a small 7 inch screen that picture actually looks pretty good and pretty sharp, even though it is an HGTV. One of the small downsides here is that you do have to attach an antenna to this unit. You get a little over two hours of battery life both for the DVD player and for the DTV but it might not be enough to make it through a full football game or baseball game using the battery alone. This does come with a car adaptor so you can use it to tailgate the 4A football party but if you're expecting long battery life or to put in your own set of double A alkaline batteries, this does not take it. The battery is essentially sealed into the unit so you can't carry an extra battery along with you. Anyway in the end this is a pretty decent little combo unit. It costs right around $150. It's not a great deal but if you're looking into getting a portable DTV unit and you want the added functionality of having a DVD player, this is obviously one of the units you should look at. Again they're not the sexiest unit but it does have decent features and good accessories that come with it. I'm David Carnoy and that's the Invisien Dual Box Pro 8850A. >>Tong: Carnoy called it the Invisien >>Cooley: He's uppity that way >>Tong: It's an Invisien. I know that's what they're trying to do. >>Cooley: Right, that's exactly what that is. The H is invisible. [laughter] >>Tong: There's an H in there? >>Cooley: There's an H it's invisible. Alright let's see what we got. We got an email in here >>Tong: We told people we wouldn't take their emails but we're gonna take an email. >>Cooley: I mean this isn't gonna be takin in real time. This would have come in a couple days ago so it's not the way to get in off the cuff but here we are. >>Tong: Okay >>Cooley: This one comes in from William, it says I'm looking for a laptop for around $350 to $370 for my sister and I like this because we actually got an email about buying a gift and not something for themselves. She would prefer a screen size of at least 14 inches as well as a CD drive integrated, WiFi of course. It does not need to have a Bass processor as it's going to be used mostly for browsing and typing documents. >>Tong: Okay >>Cooley: What do you think? >>Tong: Okay so right off the bat when we saw this, to find a 14 inch laptop at that price is very difficult. On Black Friday, if you had called us like the day before Black Friday, there were plenty. >>Cooley: For that and less >>Tong: There were 15 inch laptops for something like around $200, $250 but now that it's no longer black Friday, you're going to have a hard time. Really what you're talking about in the $300, $400 dollar range, you're really talking about the Netbook range. We did look at some of the deals and bargains because we want to give you a reference of maybe something possibly close to that so for example we have here, if you want to check out shopper.com, we have a 14 inch laptop. Again, this is from Refurb Depot, Refurb Depot, I assume is probably not a brand new factory out of the box. >>Cooley: Tristan, we have refurb and new merchants, right? >>Tristan: We have refurb and new merchants, yes >>Tong: And so here at Refurb Depot we have an IBM ThinkPad. It's the T42 2373. It's a 14 inch laptop and it's $320. >>Cooley: Tristan is there anyway we're gonna get this guy near $400 for a 14 inch laptop? >>Tristan: So maybe if you want to go up to a 15 inch you can find something from Amazon Marketplace that includes used laptops. >>Cooley: Yeah, that's all the partner's sellers. That's what you gotta do, a refurb. We can't do new at that price, right? >>Tong: Even on shopper here we have to know, I'm sorry, go ahead >>Tristan: No, no you're not gonna find anything new that you want to boast about. >>Cooley: [laughter] That you're even gonna want to use. >>Tong: Now if, you know, all the requirements that they asked for, they said it didn't have to be too fast. It can have WiFi and I guess they were looking for a CD drive >>Cooley: Integrated CD, I'm not sure if this T42 has that or if it's part of a dock that you probably have to buy separately cause there's a T42 right there so this is the one BT's talking about. Again, a refurb is probably the only way, it is the only way you're gonna get that since the Black Friday deal's are kind of poof. Although we keep hearing about more specials coming out, Tristan. Are our merchants, our partners still doing additional cyber Monday promotions cause I heard that there were still some more special deal days coming out that were really kind of blow out. >>Tristan: Anything could happen. >>Cooley: Yeah >>Tristan: We look everything up day by day and they just, it's very reactionary >>Cooley: Yeah if someone else does it, then they'll all do it. Okay so they're all following each other. Alright so that's the best we can do for you on that one. You're not gonna find it in routine stock even in the holiday promotions right now, William but look at a refurb. That wouldn't bother me much. You're gonna get a 90 day warranty instead of a year, that's one of the first big differences right off the bat but remember it's been checked out twice. Unlike the new ones which have only been checked once when it left the factory. There is some logic to that that it's been certified twice. If it was recertified by the manufacturer, that usually makes me feel a lot more comfortable as opposed to just a store that took it back and did some in store thing. Nothing wrong with the stores but the manufacturer really knows the ends and outs on that one. Okay let's also take a look, a very big buzz topic a lot of people have written in about. We wanted to try and do a little rundown on this. This is the Nook. A lot of folks have been talking about this a lot lately and wondering, how can I get one? You gotta wait until January now. They are sold out through the holiday season so that's it for the Nook, this is the Barnes and Noble competitor to the Kindle, to the Sony reader. Remember there's a new Sony reader coming out, the PRS900, I'm gonna bring that one up on the screen in a few minutes but the main differences on the Nook are this, of course you go to a Barnes and Noble store for the Bestsellers and all the new titles and all that kind of thing. If you can see down here, this is a very different kind of screen. I'll kind of bounce back here. It's a little hard to see but look right there and you'll see a color LCD, you've heard about this. Let me show you what that does. If you go across these you've got all these buttons, these are touch buttons but there's like my library or for the store and it's a little different way to navigate. And then you get into a menu here and you've got navigation buttons here and that's how you get around the main screen. It's a little different interface so you've gotta use the bottom to navigate the top. That takes a little getting used to. We found out it was pretty good. And the sharing is different here, you can loan somebody a book, it has this where you can loan somebody a book off your Nook for off to two weeks and while you do that you don't have it. It's not duplicating, it's sharing so bear that in mind. Some folks don't know that's how that works. And in terms of samples, later on but not immediately they're gonna roll out a WiFi layer at their stores where you take the Nook to a Barnes and Noble, you'll be able to sample an entire book, as long as you're logged into their WiFi network, that's where the authorization comes from. Amazon just let you sample the first chapter so if you'd really like to bounce around a book and see what's in there before you buy, the Nook's gonna have an advantage there as well, but for the most part, very similar device. Six inch, E ink screen, just a little different navigation, little different on the sharing and a little difference on the preview and of course the price is the same as on the Kindle, $259. The difference is you can get a Kindle right now for the holidays, you won't get this guy now. They're sold out until January. >>Tong: That was very eloquently done. >>Cooley: Did you enjoy that? >>Tong: Yeah but I do have some help for our buddy who asked about the 14 inch laptop. >>Cooley: What do you got? >>Tong: With the powers that be our wonderful, lovely, chat room, did a little lookin up for us. The Dell Inspiron 14 inch at dell.com, $399. >>Cooley: Really, wow >>Tong: Yeah, quality laptop there. Yeah, Dell Inspiron 14 inch for $399 at Dell. You're getting a Dual Core processor Pentium. You're gonna have WiFi on there. >>Cooley: Seriously, that really comes through >>Tong: Those are the requirements they asked for, 160 gig hard drive >>Cooley: Unreal, that's gotta be a total promotion right now >>Tong: Yeah, that's where it's at right now. If they're lookin for a laptop, they should look there. >>Cooley: That's a deal to go look at. That's probably a very limited time right now. Let's go back to our display here one more time. I wanted to close the loop on these readers. The reader you see on the left there is the current Sony Reader. That's the one you're gonna see, the PRS600, currently in stock. It doesn't have WiFi or anything or 3G. The new one is coming out December 18 through January 8th, a phased roll out. This is the third of the big boys that are on the market right now. This is the new reader daily addition. They're listing it, as you see there, at $400. Don't know what street prices are gonna be yet beyond that with shoppers, as soon as this thing hits the market but this is gonna have wireless connectivity, I believe 3G and WiFi but at least 3G, which the other current reader doesn't have. So just so you know what the playing field is. The Sony is trying to catch up in terms of features and they got their own reader store as well. I don't believe they have any decent sharing or sampling worked out yet. >>Tong: No, not yet >>Cooley: That's kind of iffy on them and as you see the price is kind of steep as well. Okay >>Tong: Whew >>Cooley: We done? >>Tong: We're done for today. >>Cooley: We're back on tomorrow. >>Tong: Honestly we need you guys to keep calling us because you do not want to hear us talking. >>Cooley: You don't want to hear us talking. I don't want to hear me talking. I know you don't. >>Tong: Your voice is kind of soothing at times. >>Cooley: Really, puts you to sleep or make you kinda >>Tong: I don't know about that. >>Cooley: I'll bring Cognac >>Tong: [laughter] You do that >>Cooley: Okay folks, we'll see you. By the way, congratulations to our winner of yesterdays crave contest drawing, which was going out to rats4you. He won the Targus Crave Laptop bag which I'm trying to pull up here but it won't load. Anyway it's a laptop bag. It's really cool and he won. Don't forget you can go win our Insignia wireless Blu-Ray player courtesy of Best Buy. Go to crave.cnet.com, type in giveaway, you'll see the player there at the top of the search results and just make a comment on it. It can be a good comment or a bad comment, we don't care. That gets you interested or gets you into the running and you might win. So we're back up tomorrow. >>Tong: Yeah Deborah's gonna be here. Our buddies from Crutchfield.com are gonna be hanging out with us. >>Cooley: Love Crutchfield >>Tong: Oh yeah so you got your questions? Give us a call. Again, 1:00 p.m. west coast time, 4:00 p.m. eastern time >>Cooley: That's it >>Tong: BMV >>Cooley: We'll do it again tomorrow. By folks, see ya ^M00:27:40 [ Music ]
