LG V10 renders surface ahead of rumored October 1 launch
A leaked photo provides a clearer look at the alleged LG smartphone and its secondary ticker display.
LG is set to launch a new smartphone tomorrow, and rumors say it has a second display on top of the usual one. Word of the device surfaced in early September; however, LG began teasing the phone's capabilities in the days that followed.
LG is no stranger to unique design traits for its smartphones. A number of LG models, namely the flagship G series, feature rear power and volume buttons. While it was quite the departure when it was first introduced, it has since become the norm for the Korean vendor. Additionally, the last few years have also given way to the curved and self-healing G Flex line. In other words, we might not act surprised when LG tries something different to sway buyers away from the typical smartphone fare of rectangular phones.
Looking closely at today's leaked image, we can see LG has opted for its signature rear button configuration. The battery cover appears to have a carbon or diamond pattern, which would likely provide added grip. And, dovetailing with previous reports, the V10 should offer up a pair of front-facing cameras.
Other hardware features expected in the LG V10 include a 5.7-inch display with a 2,560-by-1,440-pixel resolution and a 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear and front camera combination. Under the hood we should find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage with a microSD expansion card slot.
