Many, many moons ago when I first started getting into making films about cars, the very first sports car I ever got to drive was a Caterham and it was an amazing experience.
And if you've never driven one Well, it's something you definitely have to do.
But when I heard that Caterham CDXK from drifting experience was coming back to Brands Hatch, my home circuits I have to go down and check it out.
There's a purity of joy in driving a caterer.
There's so little to get in the way of your experience, making them perfect for great car control.
And that's what today will be all about.

In a K-tron 270 with extra grippy tires at the front and the absolute opposite at the rear, I will be throwing myself at a corn course designed to get me as sideways as possible, but still in full control, hopefully.
Whether you're good at it or not, throwing around a car like this is a really good way to spend a sunny day.
There are a lot of one-day track experiences that you can spend your hard-earned cash on.
But few will let you really go for it at ten-tenths if you're willing to give it the beans.
Luckily, the CDX is such a place.
That's not to say that I was an amazing drifter.
I ate my fair share of cones.
But there's nothing like it for really getting some drifting experience in someone else's car that has been set up to do it just right.
It's certainly more risk-free than taking your own pride and joy to a car park on the weekend.
And the extra help and advice in between runs means that every single outing was a learning experience.
I may not have been a pro drifter by the end of the day, but I was certainly a lot better than when I arrived.
It's been a brilliant morning out here on the track.
I'm getting to watch other people hoover around in these K-trons, it's almost just as fun as doing it yourself.
Now there are so many different track days available where you can spend some money and do something fun.
In fact we're watching one of Brian's tracks right now, where people pay money To do fairly pedestrian laps in fast cars, but today, here, and for me personally, I'm a bit biased cuz Kaytrans have always been kinda part of the car driving that I really enjoy.
But not only is this incredibly fun, the driving really gets the heart rate going.
But it's the extra car skills that you can learn on top.
And clearly, that's something where I still need to develop Just over the course of this morning, just being out there for however long I was, doing as many laps I did, you feel yourself incrementally getting better and better.
And that's stuff that you take with you into all of your driving.
[SOUND] A few cones got eaten, a little bit of rubber got burned off.
But the smile on my face is going to stick around for awhile.
