Speaker 1: Some concept cars are rooted in well, whatever the opposite of reality is, but every so often an auto maker will take a bit of its current design language and mix that in with a dash of some futurism. And what would you know, he did exactly that with the concept EV nine Kia claims. This might be the next edition to its EV line. I believe it, the EV nine carries the squareish good looks of the soul, the sheer presence of a Telluride and all the recline. Goodness we've started seeing on new Kias, like [00:00:30] the EV six, it manages to stay within the family while looking to the future. Oh God. Now I sound like the press release. Yep. Speaker 1: While the exterior is a little more science fact, the inside takes it into the realm of science fiction. It's a little less crazy than the Hyundai seven with which it shares a platform, but many concepts staples are here. The wheels rectangle there's a 27 [00:01:00] inch display on the dash. The standard Cedar arrangement can move around to bring it closer to a lounge. And the general layout is pure minimalism. As you might expect, the EV nine S powertrain is electric. It rides on the same E GMP global electric platform that underpins current cars like the Kia, EV six Hyundai ionic five and Genesis GV 60. While all concepts specs could be taken with a Michigan highway's worth of salt Kia claims the EV nine has up to 300 miles of range and can charge from 10 to 80% [00:01:30] capacity in under half an hour. Now, while the Kia concept EV nine doesn't technically preview anything immediately coming Kia did promise that this is a preview of things to come of sorts. So the next batch of key electric vehicles you see on the road may very well resemble the concept EV nine.
