[SOUND]
Easter Jeep safari, that springtime ritual where jeepers from all over the country come to Moab, Utah in search of the perfect rock trail.
Now he has brought out seven Concepts, but I wanna concentrate on just one.
[MUSIC]
Because its a concept that's available to the consumer with the help of the aftermarket.
It's called the Jeep Switchback.
[MUSIC]
Now there are a. A million different ways that you can modify your vehicle.
And what I really like about the Switchback, is that it provides a great roadmap for you to get started in Jeeping fun.
So, start with a Rubicon, right?
It'll give you DAN 44 axles in both the front and the rear.
A 3.6 liter V6 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, and a 2-speed transfer case It's a pretty good start.
Then you just take your jeep to the candy store.
First up, put a lift on it, baby, a four inch lift to be exact, because when it comes to ground clearance, too much is never enough.
Next up, let's talk about some shocks.
All right, I've got Fox racing shocks on all four corners.
And they've got remote reservoirs.
So that's gonna keep that oil cool and help it from exploding when you;re out on the trail which definitely you do not want.
The next switch is the switch back, tyres, when you're going off road you're gonna need an aggressive trade and these BFG cam 2 match trains are the ticket, now they're 37 inches with Honestly might be a little bit too big for these [INAUDIBLE] 44s, but the bigger the tires the more sidewall, the more traction that you're gonna have.
Now if it were me, I would also put some bid lock wheels on this, the Switch Back doesn't have it but having bid locks allows you to air down a really really low, spread that tread out, spread your foot print out and get even more traction And sooner or later you are going to get stuck.
But hey it's okay.
You gotta winch on the front and who knows, maybe one day you'll pull somebody else out and then you get to be the hero.
[MUSIC]
And the final thing on the modifications, lights, lights, and more lights.
The switch back has got an LED light bar across the windshield.
Plus LED squares on the [UNKNOWN] and on the front bumpers.
So your road ahead is always illuminated.
Now all these parts are available through Jeep and if you buy them through Jeep it doesn't void the warranty.
I know how cool is that!
But if you want to shop around, be my guest.
There are plenty of after market suppliers that can give you you're looking
[MUSIC]
Now, there are a few things that are specific to this switch back, namely the hood and those awesome half doors, plus the roof rack, so if you want those you're You're gonna have to get out your fabrication tools.
And when it comes to price, if you wanted to spec this out yourself?
Well, a standard Rubicon starts at around $37,500, and the four-inch lift kit plus the shocks?
Well, that's about $2,200.
The Tires, 350 each and you need five cuz you gotta have a pair, plus the wheels that I want $300 each, the bumpers about $1500, the winch 15 to $2000.
So I mean you're looking at quite a bit of money here.
I'd say about $15,000 so this is a plus $50,000 jeep.
Hey man, no one said having fun was cheap.
