Speaker 1: You guys, it is such a great day to be a truck person in the United States because the Ford ranger Raptor is coming to our shores. Yes. Finally after, so, so long now we still have to wait a tiny little bit 20, 23, but I'm so stoked because we don't have a go fast midsize truck. I mean, yes. So we have the Ford Raptor, that's a full size and then Ram came in with the TRX, but that's a full size, [00:00:30] but there's nothing that's really go fast. I mean, yeah, the Colorado, like
Speaker 2: The Dr. Two,
Speaker 1: It's sort of a go fast, but it's way down on power compared to this Raptor. And then the Toyota Tacoma of like, it's super reliable, but you guys that six speed, automatic transmission is a dog. It's terrible. That truck is so old. And then like the Frontier's good, but like, it's just kind of basic. So we really haven't had anything where we can get into the enthusiast market and I'm so, so stoked. Okay. [00:01:00] The things I'm most excited about this for ring Raptor, first of all, can we talk about the Bower? Cause it is a three liter twin DMO charge B6, and it's pushing out like 392 horsepower and 430 pound feet of torque on that little
Speaker 2: Midsize truck. You guys it's gonna be so fast.
Speaker 1: It's gonna be so, so fast. Now when it comes to the travel, we don't know what that is. Ford has not released those numbers yet, but we do [00:01:30] know that it has the Fox 2.5 inch live valve shocks. And what's cool about that is that they can react to the road, ology like computer technology and in magic engineering and stuff. And you can get like 500 reactions per second. So that's gonna really be able to keep a lot of your tire on the road and be able to give you a great, great ride feeling. Hopefully. Now, how does that compare to the Multimatic shocks that the Chevy Z two has? I mean, I really like those shocks. I love how it gives you no compromises on the pavement, but it gives you a [00:02:00] great ride on the dirt. So I think it's gonna be really exciting to get two trucks, head to head, just to see how those suspensions work when compared to each other.
Speaker 1: We don't know anything about towing, which is kind of a bummer, but the regular ranger can tow like 7,500 pounds, which is more than the Colorado that I have sitting out in my driveway. So I'm stoked on that. You'll still be able to travel to tow, you know, a race car or travel, and you'll still be able to get there without any problems. So stoke and the ranger is gonna get [00:02:30] a front locker. Yes. So now we're gonna have two mid-size trucks that are gonna get a front locker, the Colorado zero two, and this ranger. Now I don't expect the ranger to be really, really great at rock crawling, but it's going to be as good as like 95% of its, uh, buyers are going to want. And those who want more rock crawling capabilities, like they're just gonna go get a gladiator, right? I mean, uh, that's what I was gonna do.
Speaker 1: We've got some drive modes here. So we've got a drive mode for rock crawling, sand, [00:03:00] mud, and ruts. But my favorite, you guys, my favorite, if it's anything like the F-150 Raptor or the Bronco Raptor, or actually just the regular Bronco, the Baja mode is gonna be dope. I'm assuming that it's gonna lock out like the top five gears and it's just gonna, you freaking sail and I'm, I'm so, so excited to try this. Now, the range of Raptors going to have 17 inch wheels and Ford, didn't talk about [00:03:30] the tire size, but I like zoomed in on one of the press photos and it looks like they are 33 inch BFG, K two tires standard rap comes now with 37 inch. You could probably stuff 30 fives underneath this ranger Raptor. I don't know, but I mean a 33 inch tire is a really good size for this type of vehicle.
Speaker 1: So I'm super surfed on that. Um, and since everyone's gonna be jumping that vehicle, I mean, I am gonna be jumping that vehicle chassis is going to be reinforced and you're [00:04:00] gonna have in the shocks, like a bottoming out tech, so that once you get to that full compression, it gets really, really stiff at like the bottom 25%. So hopefully you can like land those sweet jumps and just go like super crazy soft. Another thing that I'm really stoked about on this board is that you're gonna have all of this great interior cabin tech that Ford has been doing lately. I mean, the stuff that's happening on the Chevrolet, I mean, it's simple and it works. It's just not very robust and what we have [00:04:30] on the Tacoma. Like you guys, it's terrible, terrible, terrible, but in the Raptor, we are gonna get a large portrait oriented screen and Ford's been doing really good things with this infotainment lately. The sync four is really robust. There's a lot of features. And when you look at the competition, like, I mean, I'm sorry, but Chevrolet, I mean, it's okay. It's simple to use. There's just not a lot of features to it. And Toyota, Ugh.
Speaker 1: And this ranger, Raptor's got wireless CarPlay and Android auto. So if you don't like sync four, you can just use your phone. [00:05:00] No idea on the pride ice. No idea. I don't know, started at 45. Mm. I don't know. Uh, but I'm very, very excited to get it. I mean, I do enjoy the Colorado that I have parked outside, but I mean, it's a range of Raptor. We've wanted it forever. It's gonna be great. Anyway, keep your eyes here on road show. When we find out more, you will find out more about the 20, 23 Ford ranger, Raptor,
Speaker 2: Topo,
Speaker 1: Topo. Are [00:05:30] you excited about the new Ford ranger
Speaker 2: Raptor? Cause I,
Speaker 1: And it's gonna be great. Remember to like, and subscribe it here on roadshow. And uh, maybe my cat will get in.
