Five things you need to know about the 2019 Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo GTS
[MUSIC]
Is that the intersection between hardcore performance and daily driving comfort between V8 power and surprisingly sharp handling this is the sweet spot.
It's a vehicle that we call the 2019 Porsche Panamera Sport Tourism GTS.
And here are five things that you need to know about it.
[MUSIC]
Now what makes this a GTS.
Well that trim level is basically a slightly D tuned version of the Porsche Panamera Turbo with the same for leader twin turbo charged V8.
Making 453 horsepower and 457 pound feet of torque.
Now Yeah, the 550 from the capital T turbo would be nice.
But with lunch control here, we're still doing zero to 60 in a very respectable three point nine six.
Second DTS also keeps in tech all of the go faster handling bits from the upper trim turbo, including the standard sport crono package, which you can thank for that Launch Control zero to 60 time, as well as a sport air suspension.
We Which is a little bit lower and a little bit more control than your standard Panamera.
There's also a standard active export exhaust.
That sounds really good on the outside but still very quiet on the inside.
And what makes us a sport Turismo is this rear end The wagon profile and next you 18.3 cubic feet of storage space or 49.
With the seats folded flat, that's just a hair more than the 47.3 that you'll get in the sedan, which isn't a whole lot of extra Utility thanks to this truncated rear glass This is mostly a vehicle for people who prefer the look of a sportwagen not necessarily utility.
Now 4600 pounds is only 52 pounds more in the sedan but But both our Husky boys but surprisingly or press unsurprisingly, this is a Porsche.
It's a fantastic handling vehicle that handles slaloms and stops perfectly well, thanks to our $9,000 carbon ceramic brake upgrade.
I don't even want to think about what routine maintenance is on those things.

Of course the GTS trim levels focuses on handling dynamics and it does a pretty good job of bending the laws of physics for such a large vehicle.
There are a couple of upgrades that you're gonna wanna look at, first is gonna be a $5,000 Porsche dynamic chassis control package that adds active torque vectoring to the rear axle of the standard all wheel drive system and the second is gonna be a 1600 $20 steering package.
Now when editor Steve Ewing drove the GTS earlier this year, let me borrow a phrase from him.
He said that they basically do a good job of masking the math of this very large vehicle.
And personally I think that they're much more.
Needed upgrades that are going to allow you to best take advantage of pulling the most G's to put these [UNKNOWN] Sports ease to the test.
[MUSIC]
Dashboard technology includes standard Wi Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay connectivity though no Android Auto which is weird because Porsches cousins VW and Audi, both supported.
I'm almost willing to forgive that though because the PCM or Porsche Communication Management software and the dashboard is so good.
And it's highly customizable from the 12.3 inch touchscreen in the center to the hybrid digital analog gauge cluster that's in front of me.
Now, there are a lot of haptic buttons on the center console but less than the last generation.
However, nowhere here nor on the steering wheel can I find a skip forward or backwards button.
Which means that I have to go the touchscreen to change tracks or radio stations.
Now, maybe I'm missing it but, if not, what's up with that Porsche?
[MUSIC]
Yes, it's pricey but it's also about a $20,000 savings over going full on turbo.
And no, I don't think that matters that much to the hundred thousand to $200,000 Super saloon and estate set, but it's also nothing to sniff out.
That's a lot of money saved.

I think that the GTS matches the performance that you think that you need that twin turbo VA power With all the performance that you actually need the solid handling upgrades, making it the best balance model independent [UNKNOWN]
