Speaker 1: The upcoming Ford F-150 lightning, all electric pickup truck could be a transformative vehicle. It is rugged, capable, aggressively priced, and it's basically just an F-150. So everybody already knows what it is. Still. A few things do set the lightning apart from combustion powered F 50 S. And if you're not familiar, here are what they are starting up front. This is the mega power front. It is a lockable weather, tight storage compartment. It can support up to 400 [00:00:30] pounds and it clocks in at about 14 cubic feet. There's enough room in here to hold two golf bags. Now I don't play golf. I can be frustrated for free, but if that's your thing, you've got room for a couple sets of clubs, right in here beyond that you also have four, 120 volt household outlets. Plus two USB ports. Switching ends. I'm now at the back of the lightning here, where it actually has an independent rear suspension.
Speaker 1: It's a trailing arm design with coil Springs. And of course, a [00:01:00] stabilizer bar, regular combustion powered F 50 S of course are very traditional pickup trucks. They have live axles and they work very well. I tested one of those trucks not long ago, and the ride handling is really quite good, but this should be far better. Do you like torque? Well, I love torque and no matter the model, the F150 lightning here comes with 775 pound feet of twist. That is more than in any other F-150 in history. And it's [00:01:30] enough to get this towering blocky vehicle from a standstill to 60 miles per hour in the mid four second range, higher end versions of this truck come with a beautiful 15 and a half inch portrait style in infotainment display, running a sync for a infotainment system. This is just like you get in a Mustang, mock E and I've gotta say it looks great here on the trucks dashboard.
Speaker 1: And the overall layout of things is fairly intuitive. I've been poking around here for a few minutes, and I quite like [00:02:00] it, although it is not the snappiest infotainment. So system I have ever used lesser versions of the lightning. Of course, the pro and XLT models. They come with just a 12 inch screen. The 2022 Ford F-150 lightning offers all kinds of innovative features. Plus, it's going to be an incredible bargain. This thing should kick off at just about $40,000, including destination fees, which makes it an absolute bargain. But is it a revolutionary vehicle? I happen to think so, but am I off my [00:02:30] rocker? Well, leave a comment or four down yonder because I would love to hear what you have to say.
