The brand spanking new BlackBerry Torch 9800, announced by Research in Motion yesterday, will be available on Vodafone UK. Other networks will have RIM's latest, but Vodafone displayed the speed of the puma to be the first to announce it would offer the phone.

You can register your interest in the BlackBerry Torch at the Vodafone Web site. The Torch will be available on pay monthly contracts -- there are no details yet, but lengthy two-year deals are, unfortunately, likely.

The Torch packs a Qwerty keyboard and touchscreen into its sliding frame, but sadly no actual torch. It's also the first to run BlackBerry 6, the latest version of the BB operating system.

In related news, T-Mobile has today announced the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9105 is now available on pay as you go. It's the first time the Pearl 3G is on pay as you go. The phone will cost you £250. Topping up your account with £20 top-up before 31 August will net you six months free email and 1GB of Internet use.
