CNET First Look
Zune HDIna Fried from News.com provides a brief glimpse of the Zune HD portable media player, due out in fall 2009.
>> Ina Fried: I'm Ina Fried with CNET News here at the All Things Digital Conference in Carlsbad. One of the things that Steve Ballmer didn't get a chance to talk about too much was the Zune HD that Micro Soft talked about this week. But we have a chance to look at it here and see the menu. So as you can see, the menu looks the same, but the fact that you can touch it is a little different. You know, basically this going after the iPod Touch, so it's some of the same kinds of things you'd expect to see, rotating screen, etcetera. One of the big differences on the Zune HD is the OLED screen, which you see. So, a little bit different, one of the first to use that technology. Another difference is HD radio. For those that don't know, that's an over-the-air radio technology, digital radio. So unlike satellite, no monthly subscription, over the air kind of like FM radio but you get better quality digital. Other thing, you know, supports subscription music, etcetera. It's also got WiFi, so it's a Web browser.
