[SOUND] Hi guys I have your two new external hard drives from WD.
The My Book and My Passport.
As you can see they look like different versions of the same device and indeed they are very similar.
Now first both do not have a USB-C port.
Instead they offer the micro-usb 3.0 port and that means they will not work with computer that only has USB-C, like this micro [UNKNOWN] here.
And to make up for that, most of them support encryption meaning you can turn it on and not worry about losing your data in case of loss or thief.
Which is more important for this passport here, because this is portable drive.
You carry around and you might lose it.
Also both of them come with lovely backup software in case you do not want to use the built in backup tool of Windows 10 with them.
And both drives offer high capacity.
Now the My Book here delivers up to 8TB and the My Passport up to 4TB.
And in testing they are both fast.
Now the My Book is fast obviously, average some 170 megabytes per second.
And the My Passport, 110 megabytes per second.
Now they are not the fastest ever seen, but definitely not the slowest.
And finally, both come in black.
You will not be able to find this My Book here in any other color, but you will with the My Passport.
How do I now?
Well I have them all here.
All right here a yellow, silver, blue, red, and orange.
And keep in mind each color come with a color matching USB cable which is pretty cool and these colors mean that it's a great idea if you want to buy multiple of them and use the color to categorize the content Like yellow for video, blue for document, and red for photo stuff like that.
So, how about the price?
Well, both of these drives come in multiple capacities but the top capacity 8TB My book here can be had for $300.
The Top capacity of the My Passport 4 TB can be had for $160.
And that's all I care about because when it comes to storage, I only get the highest capacity possible.
And that's because I am **** Ngo and these are the My Book and My Passport drives from WD.
