Vizio M series: 4K TVs get even cheaper

[MUSIC] One of CNet's favorite TV's last year was Vizio's M Series. And for 2015 the company is upped the ante by adding 4K resolution. New sets are among the least expensive 4K TVs available, ranging from $600 for the 43 inch model to $4000 for the 80 inch style. They offer everything you'd expect on a modern 4K set, including Netflix and Amazon 4K streaming capability, and five 4K compatible HDMI inputs. The main reason the picture on last year's models was so good, however, had nothing to do with resolution. It was better contrast than competing LED LCDs, thanks to a multi-zone direct local dimming backlight. That backlight allows the screen to be independently brightened and dimmed in areas of the picture that need it, improving punch and realism. Beyond picture quality, video styling is minimal.
