Hey, I'm Donald Bell for CNET.com with a quick tip for the iPod Nano.
We used to joke about using this thing as a watch, but now it seems that Apple is taking the idea seriously.
The October 2011 update brings 18 new clock faces to the Nano; some of which are actually pretty cool.
Just grab yourself a watchband accessory, and you've got a great nerd watch.
The problem is, when you wanna tell the time quickly, you don't wanna flip through icons finding for the Clock app.
So here's how to make the Nano's clock pop up right away.
Go into the iPod Settings Menu and go to General and then Date and Time, scroll all the way down to the Time On Wake setting and switch it on.
Now, whenever you hit the Wake button, the clock will pop right up and a swipe to the right will take you to the main menu.
Here are a few other Nano clock tips.
When you go into the actual Clock app,
a long press on the screen will get you arrows to change the clock face.
Also a swipe to the left will give you a Stop Watch and another swipe will give you a Timer, and the little eye in the corner will give you settings for the timer sound.
So there you go.
