Sony has issued a Day 1 System Update for the PlayStation 4. While the update isn't mandatory, it is required to access most of the high-end features like the PlayStation Store, Online Multiplayer, and Blu-Ray support.
The update can be installed over the air on your console, or manually using a USB flash drive.
To do this, you only need a USB drive with at least 1 gigabyte of space.
Connect it to your computer, and create a folder entitled, PS4, in all caps.
Inside of that folder, create another folder entitled, UPDATE.
This one must also be in caps.
Download the update from Sony's website, and place it in the UPDATE folder.
Ensure your console is turned off, and connect the USB drive.
If you are seeing an orange in your light, simply hold the power button until you hear a beep.
With the USB drive connected, and the system turned off, it's time to power on the PS4 in safe mode.
This can be done by holding the power button by 7 seconds, and waiting for the beep.
Plug in the controller,
and tap the PlayStation button, and select, Update System Software.
And for a couple of minutes, the update should be complete.
To ensure everything went smoothly, enter the Settings, select System, and go to System Information.
If you're on version 1.5, you're good to go.
Now, go pick up the controller, and go play some Killezone.
