Twitter's newest feature informs users about political ads

Twitter is adding a new feature to help you understand political ads.
Election season is upon us and with that comes an avalanche of ads on every platform, including social media.
Twitter announced its plans to inform users about political ads via its new ads transparency center.
A portal where users can look up advertisers and see what kinds of ads they're running on any given week, how much was spent, and how they chose the users who saw the ads.
There were also be badges marking political ads in user timelines and links to additional information.
In the past year, Twitter, Google and Facebook faced questions from US lawmakers about political misinformation and dishonest messaging via political ads.
All three companies pledged to more to identify political ads and offer information about them.
Facebook launched a searchable archive on its own site and instagram Google plans to release a transparency report that includes services like YouTube, and Twitter implemented a new political ad campaign policy.
In a blog post, Twitter says the ad's transparency center is available to everyone.
Even if you don't have a Twitter account.
And also mentions the portal will be enhanced with new features over time.
