You can find better performing top-load washing machines for less than a $799 GE.
Still, this model has decent cleaning power, a large five cubic foot capacity, and a couple of special features that just might make it worthwhile.
Like select other washers, this unit has a built in detergent reservoir to hold and distribute the right amount of soap per cycle.
Specifically it can hold up to 75 ounces, which GE says should be enough for around 50 average size loads.
You also have the option to adjust the amount dispensed manually.
It also has a built in faucet GE calls the water station where you can handwash or simply presoak clothes before starting a cleaning cycle.
This GE washer also has a related laundry app for Android and iPhone.
It's a little glitchy, but I was able to view the cycle and it's remaining cleaning time in the app.

Overall its a solid washing machine but you're paying extra for smart dispense and the wifi smarts.
So consider how much you care about these features before you buy.
