Hi guys, **** Ngo here and this is the Seagate 7 Purple Drive.
7 because it is only 7 mm think.
That is very thin because most standard laptop hard drives like this one here are actually 9.5 mm thick.
This is by far the skinniest.
Portable drive on the market.
And also possibly the toughest because the drive features all steel casing which is very rugged and made the drive look like an internal drive itself.
[UNKNOWN] come with a micro USB [UNKNOWN] port to connect to computer for both power and data connections.
And the drive work with any standard USB cable like this one here.
Also included.
And take a look here.
It has a very cool status light right here that pulses slightly when there are data activities.
Now, out of the box, the driver is pre-formatted in ExFAT file system.
And that means.
In what would boost Windows in my computer right away, without any restrictions.
The drive's preloaded with Seagate Dashboard backup software, now this software's very helpful because it helps you backup local files, online files, and also mobile devices.
Now the local backup part is only available for Windows because well if you use a Mac you can use Time Machine with this drive.
Now my testing the [UNKNOWN] performed very well despite how small it is.
[UNKNOWN] the sustained [INAUDIBLE] copy speed of more than 100 megabyte per second, with USB 3.0.
Now, there's one catch.
That is, the drive here has only 500 GB of storage space, making it $100 price tag kind of expensive because.
You can get actually, two terabyte drive for that price.
But then that drive would not be this rugged, as this thing, or this cool.
And for more on this drive check out my full review at CNET.com, and by the way, if this drive's super-thin profile provoked that urge you need to bend it, the way you do iPhone 6, well, good luck.
Even I can't do it, and that's a huge deal because.
I'm **** Ngo.
This has been the First Look at the C Gate 7 Turbodrive.
