Misty Robotics is a spin off of Sphero, a company that makes robotic toys including BB8.
Misty is an initiative to design home robots and a platform robotics in In the future.
The first version of the Misty Robotics device, which we saw at CS this year, is really just a bare-bones prototype.
There's a version 1.0 that's gonna be available earlier in 2018, that's gonna go out to a key, limited, group of developers.
But Misty is looking And a ten-year roadmap for a robotics will go.
The little Misty robot right now, it's a little cute BB8 chirping device that can recognize you and uses an occipital sensor on top that can do depth mapping and even take in some of the environment with 4K cameras.
But eventually Maybe the Misty robot is going to manipulate things.
We don't know what's gonna happen.
But Misty is hoping that developers are going to work with block-based programming language and other programming languages.
In fact, Misty Software Toolkit will work with Blockly, which is a lot easier to program for Than other platforms.
Add a CES that's filled with robotics and connected robots.
Misty may not look like much, but it could be a way for companies like the founders of Misty to explore where robotics goes in connected homes and also, maybe, in the future of super connected toys.
What would you do with a robot like this?
Maybe you'd use it to be around your house and interact with you.
Maybe it would serve you or help you tell where something else is.
That's something that Misty's still working out.
But mIsty's team has been involved in smart things and also in Nes.
They're active and interested in looking at where working platforms go from here.
