The Lonely Island on how they cast Judd Apatow's penis in "Popstar"Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer discuss the challenges of casting someone's junk.
Ever since I was born I was dope. [NOISE] Whoopee. MTV, movies, a lot of people, I'm not requesting this per se, but there always, there's so much female nudity. This movie, obviously shows love. There's male nudity here, without a doubt. [LAUGH] Equal opportunity nude. [CROSSTALK] Yeah, we're big into that. Equal opportunity you guys are the creators directors producers writers everything what goes into the casting of a role like that we know Judd Apatow the man though. How do you guys evaluate that casting process. Well Judd was adamant that he didn't want nepotism in casting So he sent in his head shot just like everyone else. Yeah, he sent it in really early on, actually. Before the scene was actually written he was sending us about one picture a day. Just in case guys. Keep in in mind, I'm here. I'm ready to go. In case this comes up. And it looks good. I think he won the role just purely based on merit and the look of his member. Who had the final say? On the casting? Yeah. We did. As directors and writers. We all looked at all the dicks. [MUSIC]
