All right guys and gals, we are here with two of the cast members of Silicon Valley, Zach Woods, Martin Starr.
Now tell us about your characters a little bit.
I mean watching the show, Gilfoyle he's kinda like, he seems to be the badass of the group.
If there was one badass.
Cool man, thanks.
[CROSSTALK] Peace, I'm out.
[LAUGH] How close are you, in person, to Gildwell?
Martin is being
Be honest.
modest.
Be honest.
Well, he's got the tender heart of [LAUGH] a sweetie but the body of [LAUGH]
Of an overweight Greek god.
Martin?
Yeah, I think you're a bad ****.
I would describe you I wear a leather vest around set.
I think that's mostly what he's referring to, you know.
Does he do stuff to get you, you know, in that moment, the leather vest?
Yeah.
I killed the cow that it once belonged to.
[LAUGH] So how would you describe Zach's character compared to how he is in person.
Are you kind of like?
[LAUGH]
Well, kind of like the maternal, like?
You know.
Yeah, Zach's a sweetheart, man, I think it's obvious.
On this show, he's the sweet qualities that are in Jared, that are innate in that character I think are innate in Zach and therefore really easy for him to tap in to.
But even if that weren't like him, I know he'd do it really well.
[LAUGH]
Well, because of how talented he is.
Well, the feelings mutual.
You guys want to hug this out?
Yeah, let's do it.
I think part of what's hopefully good about this show, but is definitely good about our experience making this show is that we kind of adore each other.
I mean, I think there's a lot of mutual respect.
Martin Starr is one of my heroes, from Freaks and Geeks and Party Down, he was like one of One of the actors I wanted to emulate
You know early in season one people were saying 'There's not enough women on Silicon valley'.
Season two
Good Question
They got a few, you know the dynamic on Silicon Valley, there aren't that many women in general but just for you as actors we haven't seen enough maybe romance, love lines.
Yeah>> Its an interesting thing because it exists as an actual problem in tech that women are
underrepresented.
If a satirical show sort of corrects that in the fictional representation of the role then you're not satirizing it, you're just improving it, but not in the real world
And also not making light or note of the actual issues, yeah
[INAUDIBLE] in the industry.
Yeah
It's a tricky thing because you do want, I mean, there are obviously women in Silicon Valley.
We would prefer to have more women around.
Yeah, even just to show that the team can have some fun with them all.
Get some of the ladies, you know.
Show them what you got.
Sure, I mean, on the business side of it too, it's just
Hopefully the actual Silicon Valley will lead the way.
[LAUGH]
Yeah.
And then our satirical show can-
We would love satirize more women on the show.
Yeah
Awesome guys, well thanks so much for your time here.
We appreciate it.
We cant wait to see season three.
Thank You.
Cool.
All right.
