-What's up guys?
Brian Tong here at CES 2013 and-- you know, we like to find a lot of really high value items at the show and over here, I'm here with Axel Grell, one of the engineers of the Sennheiser IE800 in-ear earbud headphones.
Can you tell the people at home the retail price of this headphones?
-The retail price is $999 so it's not very cheap but I think it's
worth every sound of it.
-You said that with a straight face.
So you believe in these headphones, right?
-I believe and definitely yes.
-So tell me a few things about what makes these headphones so unique 'cause $999 for earbuds, a lot of people at home are gonna be like, What are you talking about?
Right?
-Yes, we have a completely new approach to any headphones.
We made a completely new transfuser for them, it's a single transfuser not mudgee weight transfuser.
The transfuser covers a whole frequency range from very low frequencies up to 46.5 Khz.
So this part of the frequency range is only interesting for buds but in the audible range it is very clean and linear.
And we found something that makes the sound better than all the other as well.
There's a peak in the frequency range when you put something into your ear.
And this peak happens between 7 to 8 Khz and we made a [unk] to that
peak and we plated that and so you can hear the real [unk] and not something that is annoying.
-Now, we can tell you that Sennheiser makes quality products like you see this microphone here?
-Oh, yes it is one of its own.
-It's one of yours.
I'm not kissing his butt at all.
I promise.
Now, one feature that I was hoping these headphones will do can they clean your earwax?
Can they clean your ears when you put them in your ears?
Is that possible you could add this feature?
-Of course the earwax will always--
-Yeah.
-The earwax
will always go into the--
-Can I see yours [unk]?
-Yeah.
They're clean.
-They're clean.
Thanks to the IE800.
-And I know they are clean.
Okay, the earwax will go into the mesh of your earbuds but you can clean the earbuds with some warm water and detergent.
But we have a second mesh that protects the acoustics so there's no problem.
-So it's good to go.
Now, when would you expect to see these on the market?
-They're on the market already.
-Okay, right now.
-So, we have to
work 3 shifts at the moment because the demand is much higher than we expected.
And I think it is because it sounds so good.
-All right.
All you ballers out there $999.
Get yours today.
All right.
