-No matter where you resell your goods, ebay is a great place to start for learning the market value of your items.
After logging on to the site, enter the item you'd like to sell to look at comparable sales.
For example, a vintage Star Wars Lunch box.
After the search results pop up, you'll notice a number of filtering options on the left-hand side of the page.
Scroll down to buying formats and choose the Buy Now option.
This will
immediately show you what price other people are comfortable letting their items go for.
Another route is to view the prices of similar items that have already sold.
Choose that filter on the left-hand side under Show Only and select completed listings.
Whether selling on ebay, Craigslist, Amazon or even at your next garage sale, hopefully these steps will price you in the right ballpark.
In San Francisco, I'm Kara Tsuboi cnet.com for CBS News.
