The Uncharted movie looks like it finally has its star.
Spiderman.
That's right, according to a deadline exclusive, Tom Holland, the web slinging spidy we all fell in love with in Marvel's Captain America Civil War and starring in the upcoming Spiderman Homecoming will also be hunting down treasure as a young Nathan Drake, it looks like Sony Pictures head Tom Rothman has a lot of faith in Holland in hopes to build an entire Uncharted franchise around him.
Considering the game series has sold over 30 million copies collectively since its launch, this is a big bet by the Sony Pictures chairman.
So what kind of story can we expect?
I'm guessing they'll pull a little bit of Nathan's origin story from Uncharted 4 A Thief's End.
And then use some of Uncharted 3:Drake's Deception as a guide, which included a flashback sequence setting up Nathan's relationship with sidekick, Victor Sullivan.
Hooray for Sully.
Since Holland is a little bit older than the 14-year old Drake we saw in the flashbacks, previous scripts are being tossed out in favor of hiring a new writer to hammer out a story worthy of the franchise.
In addition asking Stranger things executive producer Shawn Levy is slated to direct so we have high hopes for this movie series there's one thing we insist on though it's that Nolan North the voice of Nathan Drake make a killer Cameo for more check out cnet.com.
