>> Hi, I'm Michelle Thatcher from CNET.com, and I'm here at CES 2008. And I've just gotten a glimpse at a very interesting emerging technology from a company called Speech Gear. The product is called Compadre. It's translation software, and it's actually a large suite with various elements to it. First of all, of course there's your expected text to text translation, so whatever Word document you have can be translated instantly into another language. But the really compelling part, the thing that caught my attention was a part of the program called Interact, which lets you speak directly into a microphone that's connected to your laptop, and it will instantly translate what you say, and spit it back out to you in the foreign language that you want. So essentially the, the benefit here is that you can have a real-time conversation with a speaker of a foreign language without fumbling over words. The, it's really just the Star Trek universal translator device, if you will. Like all voice recognition programs, it actually works a little bit better if you've had some time to train it to recognize your speech patterns. And so for the demo I've actually invited Brian from Speech Gear, who spent a lot of time training his voice into this software, to translate some really important phrases I think. So Brian, welcome. Thank you.
>> Hello.
>> And so I have here some phrases that I think are gonna be really useful to our viewers, who might want to interact with some of their attendees at the International CES. So if you don't mind, would you demonstrate the software by speaking these phrases?
>> Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> Hello.

>> Excellent. Well I think we can all see the value in this particular translation suite, and interact especially. Thank you Brian.
