>> Hi, I am Jessica Dolcourt from CNET here at CTIA 2010 taking a first look at Skype Mobile for Android and BlackBerry phones. This is a new app for select BlackBerry and Android phones on the Verizon network. Skype Mobile which I have got here on a Motorola Droid has some pretty basic services. It has got your contacts list, shows a history of events, and has a dialer. There are also a couple other things you can do. You can IM, you can change your status message, set your mood, check your Skype credit. Here is something that is cool, when you add a contact, you can actually import contacts from your phone's native address book, so that is something that you could not do for Skype on other mobile networks that you can do with Skype's new partnership for Verizon. Another cool thing about this partnership, Skype will use Verizon's voice network to make calls, so in theory you shouldn't have to hold out for a 3G or Wi-Fi network to make your calls on Skype. Out launch, Skype Mobile is available online select Android and BlackBerry phones. Skype is a free application. You will be able to download it from the Android Market on Android phones. It will be pushed to BlackBerry phones and you should be able to find that in the Downloads folder. Alternatively, you can go to skype.com slash go slash mobile and download it there. I am Jessica Dolcourt from CNET, we have been taking a look at the overall, pretty basic, Skype Mobile for select Android and BlackBerry phones.
