Hey, I'm Xiomara Blanco for CNet here at a Securify event in San Francisco and I'm checking out the Almond 3 router.
Now this isn't your average router.
It's technically a wi-fi system, meaning it's a combination router, range extender, and smart home hub.
It doesn't come cheap, starting at $125 for one unit, and $400 for three, but it's more affordable than the comparable Eero and Luma WiFi systems.
Before you complain about its price, remember, it's not your average router.
Not only does it have a screen on the front to easily and quickly set it up in your home, it also has voice control.
If you own an Amazon Echo, you can use Alexa to do things like turn on the lights or unlock the door.
There's also a useful app.
It shows you all of the connected devices on your network and allows you to setup scenes which are kind of like shortcuts.
For example, you can set a scene to automatically adjust your thermostat if it drops below a certain temperature between specific times.
One of the best things about the Almond 3 is that it works with a variety of connected devices.
Unlike other similar systems, it's not limited to specific brands.
In fact, it's compatible with a few hundred devices, including ones from Nest, [UNKNOWN], and ZigBee.
When it comes to smart home Wi-Fi systems, so far, the Almond 3 is as simple and economical as they get.
Expect it in the stores in July.
