-I'm Jessica Dolcourt from CNET.com, and I've got your first look at the Samsung SGH-A187.
This is a prepaid AT&T GoPhone.
It's got a pretty nice design, nice blue color, a little bit of a curve on the back so that it fits nicely in the hand.
It's not too heavy but it doesn't feel flimsy either.
As you can see, it's a candy bar design with a 2.0-inch QVGA display.
It's fairly bright and there's a rivet at the bottom that lets you scroll through some of the phone's apps and tools.
Since this is a candy bar design, the keyboard is right below the navigation.
It's pretty comfortable and compact with these ridged keys that are separated enough that you can actually dial by feel.
There are dedicated buttons on the keyboard to lock the keyboard and to pull up instant messaging.
And on the back, you have the 1.3 megapixel camera.
Inside, you'll find Bluetooth support, a browser, instant messaging, and e-mail that can handle multiple POP and IMAP accounts for your web mail.
You'll be able to receive new message notifications for some e-mail accounts, but not for Gmail.
There's also a basic music player, but note that since there is no dedicated headphone jack, you will need to use the micro USB port for your headphones.
Call quality was strong overall on this phone, but we did notice some problems with white noise that did affect the call clarity.
At $79.99 without a contract, this phone is a decent buy for those who are looking for prepaid phones, make calls, and to communicate by e-mail or text.
