>> Hi, I'm Kent German, Senior Editor here at CNET.com. Today we'll take our first look at the Samsung Byline. This is a phone for Metro PCS. The Byline is one of Metro PCS's most low-end phones. It doesn't have a camera, it's really made for calling, it does have Bluetooth, which is a nice touch, it is only for making calls, but overall this is a phone for real communication messaging and that's pretty much it. Design is vey simple. It does have the red color, which is a little unique, but overall really not going along with this flip phone. The external display is about the size of a postal stamp, shows all the information you need. Inside we have the internal display. It is 65,000 colors as well, so not the highest resolution screen we've seen. The menu system is pretty easy to understand there, you can get it on the list of the icon styles. The navigation controls pretty well designed. Under the navigation array is the keypad. I didn't have any problems here either dialing or texting quickly, overall, pretty simple controls. Inside you'll find basic organizer features. It does have voice commands and it does have a voice recorder, so that's another added feature that's kind of nice, gets messaging, does web-base e-mail, as well, but you have to download an application to the phone, and does instant messaging.
