>> Hey there I'm Kara Tsuboi with CNET News.com. In just a few moments, the best of CES awards are going to be given out. Over my left shoulder we have a packed house; over my right shoulder we've all this beautiful CNET Awards. The only thing missing is the winners; let's get started.
>> You know this is the year we have a very wide range, a very even field if you will. Some CES shows there's one product that kind of steals all the spotlight; this is not one of those years which I actually prefer.
>> For a nominated company, it's a big honor to be recognized for what could be months and years of hard work.
>> I think what it will give everybody is a real sense of a huge accomplishment; doing something that was recognized with that kind of an honor, that's big; that's a big deal. The marketing guys like it for the box, that's true, that's true.
>> Without any further adieu, let's do the best of CES 2008.
>> For best Car Tech in GPS the award goes to Azentech Atlas CPC 1200; in the cell phones and Smart phones category, the Motorola Rokr E-8 takes the prize.
>> This is a really competitive category. How do you feel about your win?
>> We're really excited; we think we have a great product and we're really glad that people are starting to notice it.
>> The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 won top honors for computers and hardware. The best digital photo and video goes to the Sony Alpha DSLR-A200. Emerging Technologies is a broad but important category. The Bug Lab Platforms emerge victorious.
>> How big is this award for you?
>> It's huge; we came here thinking it was just gonna make a little bit of a splash. To get this as a result is just a dream come true.
>> Leggo of gadgets. What is it really?
>> Well really it's all the building blocks anybody will need to build their own gadget.
>> In gaming the Nyko Wireless Nunchucks won.
>> EchoStar's TR-50 won in the category of home video and in home audio, Logitech gets bragging rights for their Squeezebox Duet.
>> How does it feel to actually win after all the anticipation and build up?
>> It's unbelievable. We've worked so hard so it's just so rewarding. I can't wait to call the office and let them all know.
>> In the highly competitive MP3 and portable audio players' category, the finalists were watching with anticipation.
>> And the winner is iRiver W7.
>> That would be iRiver for their W7.
>> This is their introduction for 2008 and we couldn't have kicked it off better.
>> The Philips 42PFL5630D won for the television category and for Best in Show.
>> We were hoping but this is a huge honor. It's such a tough competition in the TV category so to win that was great, but to win the Best of Show overall is just absolutely amazing for Philips. We're very excited.
>> And the People's Voice Award goes to the Motorola Rokr E8.
>> Aside from the metal that they take home they get the honor of the badge. They can put that logo on their product. Manufacturers really put these on their boxes, on shelf tags; you'll see it at retailers. It's become a very serious award. I think it's the barometer of the day.
>> The crowds have cleared, the awards have been given out; the dust has settled. That's it folks for CES 2008. We'll see you next year; 09 is gonna be even better. I'm Kara Tsuboi reporting for CNET News.com.
