Do nurses have enough of the proper masks?
Do they have the right protective gear?
The answer is it's complicated.
The problem is is that masks and other supplies are still under lock and key by most managers.
Nurses are being told Today, that they still need to re-use the masks, they're even considering reprocessing and re-sterilizing masks.
And we believe that puts, not only the nurses health, but patient's health at risk.
When we know that this disease is extremely contagious.
So the other thing about supplies, the issue with supplies, is that there isn't a transparent mechanism to know where these supplies are being delivered.
If they're been being delivered and how they're being distributed amongst the areas that have Large outbreaks you've seen in New York City where the supplies are still a mystery.
Where are they?
How many are there?
There doesn't seem to be an accountability at the federal level.
And it still is extremely frustrating that the President won't use the National Defence Production Act to mandate more masks be produced and shipped to the states.
So.
Having that level of disorganization at this point in time is very, very dangerous for our public health.
