Hey there guys.
I'm Megan Wollertan for CNET, here at the Terra Gallery in San Francisco, taking a first look at the all new Nest Cam.
So at first this thing really does look a lot like the Dropcam Pro, but it does have some features that will set it apart for sure.
For starters, the base features a zinc alloy base, so it's a little sturdier, according to Nest.
It also has a magnetic base, so you should be able to snap it onto a refrigerator or other magnetic device so that you can install it really easily.
It also is supposed to have 1080p, that's a full resolution and twice as many pixels [UNKNOWN] as the previous Dropcam Pro, so that is really, really exciting for folks who like HiRes, and don't have any bandwidth issues at their home.
It's also gonna work on a new consolidated Nest App.
That's a new app that actually combines the camera, the thermostat, and the Nest Protect, that's their new Second gen smoke and carbon monoxide detector, all in one.
Universal apps, you can access everything in one place.
Nest has also introduced it's own pricing tier for Cloud recording and storage options.
There is a 10 day option for 10 bucks and a 30 day option for 30 bucks.
That bumps it up from the original Dropcam Pro here, which you get an extra 3 days for the same price.
Or $300 for the whole year.
Thanks for watching this first look of Nest's new netcam.
