-Hi!
I'm Sharon Vaknin for cnet.com, here with a first look at the NEC LTW.
So what we're looking at is a dual-screen tablet.
We've seen a lot of tablets at CES, but this is the first I've seen with 2 screens.
Each screen is 7 inches.
The tablet also has a 3-megapixel camera and it's controlled by touch or by a stylus pen.
NEC tells us that this is ideal for course work for students.
So, for instance, a student can be watching a course lecture on one screen while reading the course book on the other screen.
The LTW is also great for information gathering because you can actually have a browser on one screen and Google Maps on the other or even 2 browsers on each screen.
Because it runs Android, you have access to the app marketplace, and one of the ones I like on this tablet is the [unk] pad.
It's like a scrapbook.
You can search a Google Map here, crop it, and drag it over to the screen and you can also take notes.
The LTW will launch in February or March in Japan for about $500, but NEC hasn't told us when it will be available in the U.S.
They say it depends on what the demand looks like in Japan.
For cnet.com, I'm Sharon Vaknin.
