MoviePass will be back this summer -- this is how it'll work

Speaker 1: So now you're asking, well, when am I gonna be able to sign up for movie pass this summer Speaker 1: Studios wanted to be able to talk to you directly and market to you directly. They want to be able to have a better line of community with you. That was one thing that we noticed. They want to be able to know, well, this person [00:00:30] comes to see every James Bond. Let's, let's give them something good for supporting us and get them back early. And then this person never comes. How do we convince them to come and see this movie? The theater said, I want to be able to market to them directly. I want to be able to, um, promote different off peak hours. I want to be able to promote different prices to them. I want to be able to offer them concessions. I want be able to do things. That'll get 'em to come to my theater [00:01:00] on times when I'm not busy. Can I show you guys some of the new things that are coming? Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. All right. So first off we are going to introduce that we're gonna have virtual currency in the system. Now, what that means is you're gonna have credits and those credits you're gonna be able to use in very, in, in different ways. And that was one of the things that the theater [00:01:30] said, Hey, I'm a little guy. I want to be able to get them to come to my theater. So I want to be able to offer them things and be able to do that. So the credit system adds a marketplace that they're gonna be able to compete. The second thing is, these credits are gonna roll over. So if you didn't go one month or you underuse them, you're gonna be able to roll those over and use those credits as well. Speaker 1: [00:02:00] The third thing is you're gonna be able to bring a friend. So you're going to the movies and you've got your credits. And you say, Hey, I wanna bring a friend. And before the movie passed that we had, it was one person. You couldn't bring a friend, you couldn't do it with anybody else. So that was a thing that we heard from you as a consumer, that you wanted to be able to bring somebody. So we're really excited about that. Then, then [00:02:30] you're gonna be able to make your credits. Tradeable. So part of the web three universe that we're talking about is maybe I haven't gone in a month or two, and I might want to transfer some of my credits to you. So, you know, if grandma hasn't gone and she hasn't used some of her credits, you're gonna be able to do that. Speaker 1: There's the, the dev, team's still working on some of the details of that, but that is something that's gonna be part of it. And last part is we're [00:03:00] gonna have tiered plans. So the tiered plans are gonna be able to allow you to come in at a place that you feel more comfortable with. What we saw was $10 was a really good starting point for a lot of people who said, I don't know if I'm gonna use it or not. I don't know how much I'm gonna go. And other people's we're at higher levels and saying, yeah, I want more. Well, the tiered system is gonna let different people play at different levels. And so we're excited to have that as well. These [00:03:30] are the new features that are coming in the new movie pass.
