Welcome to Tap That App, guys.
I'm Brian Tong and this is the show where we cover the hottest apps in the mobile space.
Now, this week's app is for the sports fan who loves gaming on the go and today we're talking about NBA 2K12 and it's coming to iOS devices for the first time.
Now, it's 5-on-5 basketball and the game play is pretty straightforward.
There's classic control mode that's similar to using a regular controller with the D-pad and buttons or there is the
one-finger control where the movement is computer-controlled but you can use one-finger gestures to shoot and pass or steal and block.
I call it company mini mode where no one will know you're even playing and the game's animations are one its killer features where they've include the unique shot animations for your favorite players.
See, it look like-- that's LeBron James' shot and oh, that's definitely Kobe Bryant.
It's block moment strikes and look that's NBA Superstar Brian Cardinal.
Now, you can jump into a quick game and take out the Lakers but is jam-packed with features like
a full-on season mode, playoff mode, and situation mode where you can set a specific scenario and see if you can score with the game on the line which I do.
Now, my personal favorite feature, they brought over the Michael Jordan Challenge mode from the console.
It's MJ's first appearance on any mobile game and you'll recreate some of his classic battles like the [unk] game against those poor, poor Utah Jazz.
Now, you'll get a TV star presentation with the great atmosphere.
You can even change the camera view.
You'll have updated rosters throughout the season that's if
there's a season and yes, I know.
The faces can get pretty ugly and the player models aren't perfect with the horsepower in an iOS device but this is the top basketball seen on any mobile device.
Now, NBA 2K12 will be available on October 4th.
It's $9.99 for the iPad and $4.99 for the iPhone.
I'm a sports junkie.
There's plenty of you guys out there and this might be the only basketball we'll be seeing this season any ways.
If you have any other apps you'd like us to show off, send them to tapthatapp@cnet.com <mailto:tapthatapp@cnet.com>.

Thanks for watching and we'll see you guys
