LG Watch Urbane smartwatch snazzes up Android Wear with glossy metal
Android wearers putting on its black tie.
I'm Scott Stein in Barcelona.
And there's a race on to create more stylish smart watches.
The LG Watch Urbane with a funky sounding name like urbane, you'd think it would try to be.
Something you want to go out on the town with, right?
Well, you remember the LG G Watch R that came out last year?
That was a round android wear watch.
That was one of the more stylish ones out there.
This takes it up another notch with a stainless steel body in gold or silver finish and a watch strap that's replaceable.
You can use any 22 millimeter watch strap, this one's leather.
But the whole look.
Takes it up a level to an urbane level or to any sort of stylish, you know, looks more like a regular watch.
This is a 1.3 inch [UNKNOWN] display, four gigs of storage, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.
What it does is the same as the rest of Android wear.
This has a microphone to be able to use voice commands.
It's got a heart rate monitor for fitness, and it runs similar apps as the rest of the watches out there.
The stainless steel body of the LG Watch Urbane is a lot like the one on the G Watch R.
It's round and it's got a slightly thicker bezel, but it looks a little less thick on this model because of its design.
Also, the screen isn't as recessed.
So, it makes swiping and touching it easier.
It certainly fits pretty well on my wrist, if you like a smart watch that looks like a regular watch.
It looks like LG's aiming right for that territory.
And with things like the Apple Watch coming out and a lot of regular watch makers pushing for smart features,.
Looks like the race is on to make something that you'd actually want to wear all the time.
So the LG Watch Urbane in silver or gold.
Which do I prefer?
I'm more of a silver person, but pretty nice though.
I feel like I need to dress better.
I'm Scott Stein here in Barcelona with LG's latest smart watches for Android wear, the LG Watch Urbane.
