Hey everyone.
I'm Jessica Dolcourt for CNET.
I'm taking a first look today at the LG Spectrum for Verizon.
This is one of their newest 4G LTE phones and of course it is very fast.
But what I like about this phone is the entire package.
It's got a very slim, clean kind of preppy and simple design.
I think it feels really good in the hand, looks really good to the eye.
Inside, you've got Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
This is technically upgradable.
It's got LG skin on top which is sometimes good for easy access to some of the system settings but sometimes I think it's a little bit disjointed in some of the screens.
For example in the app tray, you've got those list of all of the apps but you have to kind of tap top open or close and that can get a little bit of confusing.
So that's definitely not my favorite part of the phone but I do like a lot of the rest of the look and the feel.
So one of the things that's big with this phone other than LTE is HD.
It's got a 4.5-inch HD display.
It has an 8 megapixel camera on the back that will take 1080P HD video.
There's a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front.
Camera was pretty good.
Definitely took better pictures outside than it did indoors.
So the camera is not exactly a slam dunk but I would say it is pretty good and it has potential.
$199.99 will get you this phone.
It's dual core.
It's got this big beautiful display, HD, almost everything 4G LTE speeds.
It's a very good package and it's definitely playing in the major leagues.
