>> [Ken Sherman:] Hi, I'm Ken Sherman, senior editor here at CNET.com. I'm here at the CTIA, fall 2009 show in San Diego. Want to show you the LG Lyric. This is a new phone for Metro PCS service. You have here a slider design. It looks a lot like other LG phones we've seen. And this being Metro PCS, you're not going to see a whole lot of high-end features. It does have a two-megapixel camera. It's going to have messaging, a personal organizer. But really not going to get beyond that. But overall it's a pretty nice design. I like the red color. Stands out. A lot of phones of course are silver or black, so this shows a, this is a little unique. Display looks pretty nice. Felt like it could be just a little bit bigger for the phone's overall size, but it is pretty colorful. Easy to understand menu system. Navigation controls below. You see there's a toggle, a couple of soft keys, "talk" and "end" button, "OK" button in the middle. They are pretty spacious even though they are flush. But I didn't have any problems using them. I could get through my menus quickly and ag -- access what I needed to. Here on the side we have a volume rocker. There's a micro-USB port. Over there there's a 2.5-millimeter headset jack. MicroSD slot. Dedicated speakerphone button, and a dedicated camera shutter. Camera lens is here in the back. There is no self-portrait mirror or flash, but you'll see a small speaker next to it. Open up the phone; see the keypad down below. It is pretty flat with the surface of the phone. But the keys are pretty spacious. Didn't have any trouble using them. There's a little definition between the individual rows, so I could dial and text pretty comfortably. Didn't have much of a problem. Also the numbers on the keys are pretty large. The phone does have a music player. That's where we get the Lyric name, probably. You can transfer music over a number of ways, but don't expect a lot from it. You know, features aren't going to be really high end on the music player. But it will play music [inaudible]; you can add ring tones to it as well. Overall, midrange music phone for MetroPCS. Remember that MetroPCS does not offer contracts. I'm Ken Sherman, and this is the LG Lyric.
