[ Background music ]>> Nicole Lee: I'm Nicole Lee associate editor for CNET.com and this is a first look at the LG LX290, a very slim slider handset from Sprint. As you can see here on the front here it has a 2.17 inch display, it's very colorful. Underneath that you do get the typical navigation keys. Slide it up and you get a very interesting keypad here. Above the keypad there are 4 dedicated shortcut keys; 1 for texting, 1 for email, 1 for your personal calendar and 1 for your alarm clock. The keypad itself is very nice and roomy, it's easy to dial and text by feel. Features of the LX 290 include the 1.3 megapixel camera. There are typical messaging features as well as GPS, email, Bluetooth and more. As for email it supports a variety of email providers as well as your office email too. However, the LX290 does not have EVDO, it has just a regular 1XRTT data connection. The LG LX290 is available from Sprint from $29.99 with a 2-year service agreement.
